  • Review analytics design, testing, coverage and underlying data to assess detection effectiveness and identify gaps
  • Provide challenge over data quality, integrity and lineage across financial crime systems
  • Partner with data, technology and operations teams to improve detection logic, system performance and false positive reduction

Intelligence & Risk Insights

  • Produce high-quality intelligence outputs, including trend analysis, typology insights and risk reporting across key financial crime domains
  • Support oversight of higher-risk areas through data-led analysis and collaboration with assurance and subject matter experts
  • Develop and maintain risk profiling approaches across customers, intermediaries and internal fraud risks
  • Translate data findings into clear, meaningful insights for operational and senior stakeholders

Regulatory & Governance Reporting

  • Support testing and reporting on financial crime analytics, including scenarios, rules, coverage and underlying data
  • Contribute to accurate and timely regulatory reporting aligned to governance standards and AUSTRAC expectations
  • Provide data-driven input into governance forums, committee reporting and AMLCO updates
  • Ensure reporting clearly articulates risk themes, detection effectiveness and remediation priorities

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory Support

  • Act as a specialist point of contact across Financial Crime Operations, Risk, Compliance and Data/Technology teams
  • Influence stakeholders through data-led insights, clear communication and practical recommendations
  • Provide specialist input into complex investigations, reporting and control uplift initiatives

What you will bring to the role

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial crime analytics, AML/CTF, fraud analytics or compliance within financial services
  • Proven experience in financial crime analytics, intelligence or regulatory reporting environments
  • Experience working with transaction monitoring systems, detection tools or intelligence platforms
  • Strong SQL or analytics coding capability across financial crime domains
  • Experience using data insights to support oversight, control effectiveness and risk-based decision-making

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Risk, Law or related discipline
  • CAMS, ACAMS, ICA, AFCA/AFCS or similar industry certifications highly regarded

Who you are

You bring strong technical analytics and financial crime expertise, with experience across AML/CTF, fraud analytics, intelligence and regulatory reporting. You are confident working with large and complex datasets, using tools such as SQL, Python or similar to identify patterns, anomalies and emerging risks. You understand transaction monitoring, detection methodologies and analytical techniques, and can apply data insights to improve control effectiveness, reporting quality and risk-based outcomes.

You demonstrate strong execution and ownership, delivering high-quality analysis and reporting in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. You take accountability for assigned workstreams, work with a high degree of autonomy, and proactively identify issues, drive resolution and support continuous improvement.

You bring sound judgement and influencing capability, with the confidence to provide independent challenge and engage effectively with senior stakeholders. You can translate complex technical findings into clear, commercial insights and communicate effectively across governance forums, operations and risk teams.

You have a proactive, analytical and collaborative mindset, with strong attention to detail and a focus on practical outcomes. You build credibility through expertise and consistency, thrive in a high-performing environment, and contribute to a strong culture of accountability, insight and continuous improvement.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
