In this highly visible role, this executive will act as a trusted advisor to the CHRO, CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors, guiding ANI’s reward philosophy, market competitiveness, and workforce investments to align with company strategy and drive long-term shareholder value.

The Vice President will lead the design, governance, and execution of executive compensation programs—working closely with the Compensation Committee of the Board, developing Board materials, and supporting proxy disclosures—while building scalable, data-driven total rewards programs that support a high-performance culture and ongoing corporate growth. This hybrid position works onsite at the Princeton, NJ office a minimum of three days per week. Open to relocation for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead annual executive compensation planning, benchmarking, pay positioning, and competitive assessments in partnership with external compensation consultants.
  • Design, develop, and present executive compensation recommendations, board materials, and proxy statement disclosures (including CD&A narratives).
  • Ensure executive reward structures drive performance, retention, shareholder alignment, and long-term value creation.
  • Oversee the strategic design and administration of equity and long-term incentive (LTI) programs, including RSUs, performance equity, and executive retention vehicles.
  • Manage equity budgeting, dilution modeling, and plan governance in close collaboration with Legal, Finance, and external advisors.

Broad-Based Compensation, Payroll & Systems

  • Establish, evolve, and govern ANI’s enterprise compensation strategy, salary structures, market pricing, job architecture, and career frameworks.
  • Lead the annual merit, promotion, and incentive compensation cycles, collaborating closely with Finance and business leaders on workforce planning and budgeting.
  • Conduct pay equity analyses and ensure all compensation decisions are data-driven, equitable, and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Lead the Payroll team, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant multi-state payroll administration, tax filings, and system integrations aligned with company growth and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the HRIS function, driving system optimization, data integrity, reporting analytics, and process automation to support scalable HR operations and informed business decision-making.

Benefits Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive U.S. and international benefits strategy encompassing healthcare, retirement, leave, and wellness programs.
  • Manage vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance management to optimize cost-effectiveness while elevating the employee experience.
  • Oversee benefits communications and employee education programs to drive engagement and understanding.

  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing Total Rewards team focused on analytics, execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships across cross-functional leadership teams, balancing employee experience, fiscal responsibility, and strategic priorities.
  • Ensure continuous regulatory compliance across all reward programs with SEC, IRS, ERISA, ACA, and applicable employment laws.
  • Oversee audits, internal controls, regulatory filings, and governance processes to mitigate risk and support public company requirements.

Skills

  • Proven business partnering skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with executive leadership, Board members, and external advisors.
  • Strong understanding of public company governance, financial modeling, SEC/IRS compliance, and equity administration.
  • High degree of professional integrity, discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential executive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent, high priority workstreams with accuracy, sound judgment, and minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with HR Systems (Oracle preferred), market pricing software, equity administration platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with an executive presence.

  • Minimum of 15 years’ progressive Total Rewards experience, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles (Director, Senior Director, or Vice President level).
  • Demonstrated experience in a publicly traded pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences organization strongly preferred.
  • Significant hands-on experience supporting Board Compensation Committees, designing executive compensation programs, and executing proxy statement disclosures.
  • Proven track record of building, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
