The posting

SAP VIM Consultant - project work Remote

We are looking for an experienced SAP VIM Consultant to support a global food and beverage ingredients organization on a focused, objective-based engagement of 3–6 months.

You will work closely with the Source-to-Pay (S2P) Centre of Excellence and Global Process Owner to roll out OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) auto-validation and 2.5-way matching (2.5WM) across additional entities.

The organization has already identified improvement opportunities through process and task mining. The focus of this assignment is therefore on hands-on SAP/VIM configuration and implementation, maximizing existing tools and standard SAP functionality rather than introducing unnecessary customization.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Design

  • Review the existing SAP and OpenText VIM setup, including invoice capture, validation rules, matching logic, workflows and exception handling.
  • Identify configuration gaps, quick wins and changes required to enable auto-validation and 2.5-way matching.
  • Recommend how to maximize standard SAP and VIM functionality before considering custom development.
  • Translate identified improvement opportunities into a clear rollout plan, scope and objectives.

Configuration & Rollout

  • Configure OpenText VIM in SAP, including: Auto-validation rules Business rules Invoice matching Workflows Roles Exception handling
  • Roll out VIM auto-validation and 2.5-way matching to additional entities.
  • Adapt the solution to local business requirements where necessary.
  • Work with ABAP developers, or implement ABAP changes directly where appropriate, including enhancements, user exits and fixes.
  • Support unit testing, integration testing and UAT through go-live and hypercare.

Knowledge Transfer & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with S2P, Accounts Payable, global IT and external IT teams.
  • Transfer knowledge to internal teams so they can maintain and further develop the solution.
  • Prepare clear design, configuration and support documentation.
  • Track improvements in: Touchless invoice processing First-time match rates Exception volumes

Requirements

Essential

  • Strong hands-on experience with OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) configuration in SAP.
  • Experience with invoice capture, validation, business rules, workflows and exception handling.
  • Proven experience implementing invoice auto-validation and matching, including 2-way, 3-way and/or 2.5-way matching.
  • Strong SAP configuration knowledge within MM and FI/AP.
  • Good understanding of purchase orders, goods receipts and invoice verification.
  • Experience rolling out SAP/VIM solutions across multiple entities or countries.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end Source-to-Pay / Procure-to-Pay (S2P/P2P) processes.
  • Experience working within global or shared-services environments.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver against clearly defined objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Availability to start within the next few weeks.

Nice to Have

  • ABAP knowledge, particularly around VIM enhancements, user exits and BAdIs.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and OpenText VIM on S/4HANA.
  • Experience with OCR and invoice capture solutions such as OpenText Intelligent Capture (ICC) or Business Center.
  • Exposure to process mining or task mining.
  • Previous consulting or contract experience within food, beverage, FMCG or manufacturing.
  • Polish language skills.
