About the Role

We are seeking a Technical UI Designer to bridge UX/UI design and technical implementation for real-time interactive experiences. This role translates wireframes and visual designs into functional, scalable, and maintainable user interfaces while collaborating closely with designers, artists, and engineers.

What You Will Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate UX wireframes and visual designs into functional UI within Unreal Engine.
  • Break UI features into clear implementation tasks, identifying technical dependencies, risks, and unknowns.
  • Build and maintain UI using UMG, Widget Blueprints, and Blueprint scripting.
  • Create reusable, modular UI components that can support multiple screens, states, and evolving design requirements.
  • Implement data-driven interfaces and support clean separation between application or gameplay data and presentation.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, UI artists, and engineers to deliver polished user-facing features.
  • Support multiple resolutions, aspect ratios, safe areas, input methods, and platform requirements.
  • Account for localization and accessibility requirements during UI implementation.
  • Profile, debug, and optimize UI performance, including widget complexity, memory usage, and related runtime behavior.
  • Contribute to UI workflows, documentation, tools, and production processes that improve team efficiency.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Professional experience working with Unreal Engine on real-time interactive products.
  • Hands-on experience with UMG, Widget Blueprints, and Blueprint scripting.
  • Experience implementing reusable UI components and systems.
  • Strong understanding of UI states, interaction patterns, navigation, and data-driven interfaces.
  • Ability to translate design specifications and wireframes into production-ready UI.
  • Experience debugging and optimizing real-time UI.
  • Strong collaboration skills across design, art, and engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate technical constraints and propose practical solutions while preserving design intent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MVVM, ViewModels, view bindings, or comparable UI architecture patterns.
  • Working knowledge of C++ and/or Slate within Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with controller/gamepad navigation and multi-platform UI.
  • Experience with localization and accessibility in interactive applications.
  • Experience with UI materials, shaders, animation, or motion.
  • Experience with Figma or comparable design and prototyping tools.
  • Experience shipping a game or other large-scale real-time interactive product.

Language Proficiency

  • Professional English, with the ability to run requirement and design conversations directly with North American stakeholders.

The successful candidate can take a UI concept from design through implementation, build systems that are reusable and maintainable, work effectively with both creative and technical teams, and deliver responsive, performance-efficient interfaces suitable for production.
