We are seeking an ORION Spacecraft Technician Mix Crib, Associate in Kennedy Space Center, FL. Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintain inventory control for production consumables, calibrated tools, and mechanical support equipment across multiple LM locations. Enter technician and tool information into databases; update, correct, and maintain data accuracy as required. Create and manage acquisition requests (ARs) for consumables, tooling, and replacement items. Track orders and maintain a database of item status for end‑users, ensuring visibility and timely delivery. Understand production floor needs and proactively support Mechanical and Assembly teams with required tools, consumables, and equipment. Maintain calibration schedules and ensure tools remain compliant and available for use. Set up, manage, and troubleshoot databases and automated storage systems/machines used to dispense or track tooling and consumables. Sort used drill bits and coordinate regrind/resurfacing processes with approved vendors. Support mechanical teams through familiarity with common hand tools, drill bushings, torque tools, and various structural assembly tooling. Understand different drill types and drilling applications used in spacecraft structural and mechanical operations. Perform physical material handling including lifting, stocking, and organizing items on shelves; may require climbing portable ladders while carrying boxed consumables or tooling. Maintain safe, clean, and organized storage areas aligned with Mechanical team workflow and production priorities.
Requirements:
High school diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para‑engineering tasks and 0–2+ years of experience. Strong mechanical aptitude or experience supporting mechanical/assembly teams preferred. Ability to lift and transport materials and safely perform warehouse‑style stocking activities. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
