Job Description
The Server is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience through attentive, personalized, and professional service. This role engages directly with guests to provide knowledgeable recommendations, take and deliver orders, and ensure satisfaction throughout the meal. As a key member of the Food & Beverage team, the Server upholds service standards, contributes to revenue growth, and creates memorable guest experiences.
- Provide warm, attentive, and personalized service to all guests from arrival through departure
- Present menus, explain offerings, and make knowledgeable recommendations on food, wine, cocktails, and specials
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and input them into the POS system in a timely manner
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure proper timing, accuracy, and presentation of all orders
- Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring quality standards and correct table placement
- Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs, including refilling beverages and addressing requests
- Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction, respond to concerns, and resolve issues professionally
- Prepare and present guest checks accurately; process payments and signatures as required
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods
- Uphold all service standards, including luxury or Forbes-level expectations where applicable
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned stations and service areas
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
- Collaborate with back servers, food runners, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service
- Contribute to increased Food & Beverage revenue through upselling and product knowledge
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a server in a restaurant or hospitality environment required; luxury or fine dining experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, beer, and cocktail service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused approach
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and polished demeanor
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must meet minimum age requirements for alcohol service
- Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., food handler’s permit, alcohol service certification)
