The posting

The Director of Training reports to the Vice President, Training and leads delivery of new-owner training across the Authority Brands portfolio. This leader owns the standards used to certify facilitators, builds and runs the facilitator certification program, and leads the Core and Brand Facilitator team to ensure every cohort is taught by a qualified facilitator. The role is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and requires up to 20% travel.

Authority Brands’ training organization prepares new franchise owners across its portfolio of home services businesses to open and run their businesses. Owners complete online pre-work and then attend live, hands-on training in Georgia, including a common business-operations core followed by brand-specific training. The common core may include financial management, sales and marketing, customer experience, workforce management, technology and systems, compliance, safety, and day-to-day operating practices. The training team delivers these programs and owns the curriculum after handoff.

Key Responsibilities

Build and manage the facilitator certification program across all brands, including observation standards, teach-backs, assessments, and recertification. Certify facilitators on each curriculum they teach and maintain a current qualification matrix by facilitator and curriculum. Lead the team of Core and Brand Facilitators; set goals, coach performance, and evaluate results. Set the qualification matrix and facilitator load ranges used by the Lead Onboarding Coordinator, maintain a named backup for every brand, and approve exceptions. Observe live delivery on a regular schedule and provide documented feedback. Own delivery quality, including learner evaluations, assessment results, and corrective action. Share delivery findings with the Digital Learning Manager and instructional designers to support continuous curriculum improvement. Hold vendor training partners to the same delivery standards for the segments they teach. Partner with operations leaders to ensure each brand’s standards and operating nuances are reflected in training delivery. Facilitate training as needed to provide cohort coverage.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in training delivery or learning and development, including 4+ years leading trainers or facilitators. Experience building and operating a trainer certification or train-the-trainer program. Demonstrated experience observing facilitators against established standards and coaching them to improve performance. Strong facilitation skills with adult learners, ideally business owners or managers. Ability to lead across multiple brands and partner effectively with business leaders, operations teams, instructional designers, and external training partners. Franchise, multi-brand, home services, or dedicated training-center experience preferred. Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or a similar credential preferred. Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Up to 20% travel is required to visit franchise locations, attend brand meetings, and support training delivery

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
