The posting

Our client, an ultra-luxury 5-star resort ranked among the top ten resorts in the Maldives and renowned for its world-class service and bespoke guest experiences, is seeking an exceptional Italian Chef to join our culinary collective for an exclusive seasonal 6-month engagement.

The Italian Chef will take charge of preparing and presenting authentic Italian dishes, ensuring that taste, texture, and presentation consistently meet the highest ultra-luxury standards. Within this breathtaking and secluded tropical setting, you will craft fresh pasta, breads, sauces, and desserts using traditional Italian techniques, bringing the true essence of Italy to our discerning international clientele.

Notes: A Culinary portfolio should be submitted alongside your resume to showcase your creativity, innovation, and visual presentation of Italian cuisine and menu creations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of specialised experience as an Italian Chef within a 5-star luxury resort or hotel environment.
  • Fully available for the seasonal contract from November 2026 through 30 April 2027 (net salary with no service charge included)
  • Possession of relevant Italian culinary training, certifications, and advanced food safety certification.
  • Specialised expertise and knowledge in regional Italian dishes (ranging from artisanal pizza and handcrafted pasta to traditional desserts) and the ability to design elegantly tailored offerings for high-profile clientele.
  • Exceptional organisational and multitasking capabilities, with the poise to seamlessly anticipate, manage, and execute complex culinary processes under pressure.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, possessing refined interpersonal communication skills and the unwavering ability to remain calm, courteous, and strictly attentive to discerning guest needs at all times.
  • Prior professional experience working within the Maldives or residing in remote island locations is considered a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present authentic Italian dishes, ensuring that taste, texture, and presentation consistently reflect the highest standards of ultra-luxury dining.
  • Craft fresh pasta, artisanal breads, sauces, and desserts utilising authentic traditional Italian techniques while adeptly adapting recipes for a sophisticated international clientele.
  • Partner closely with the Executive Chef to conceptualise and execute bespoke themed dinners, exclusive chef's tables, and seasonal culinary specials.
  • Exemplify the highest standards of cultural refinement and personalised service, actively upholding and reflecting the core values of our private island estate.
  • Perform additional duties and special culinary projects as assigned by resort leadership.
