Job Description Summary

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Bentley University—an independent, private business-oriented university located in suburban Boston—invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position, to begin in Fall 2027.

The Lecturer role is a long-term renewable contract position, that is primarily focused on teaching and service and has opportunities for advancement. The department is seeking candidates excited to teach our non-major introductory math courses: MA105 Math Foundations for Business (includes linear modeling, interest calculations, and basic probability) and MA107 Applied Calculus for Business. The teaching load is four courses (12 credit hours) per semester. We seek qualified faculty who represent diverse backgrounds, interests and talents and share a commitment to high ethical standards and a willingness to embrace challenge and change.

Bentley is committed to the teacher-scholar model where teaching, scholarship, and service excellence are expected and valued. The Mathematical Sciences Department offers undergraduate degrees in Data Analytics, Actuarial Sciences, and Mathematical Sciences. At the graduate level, we offer an MS in Business Analytics. We support the Advanced Standing in Business Analytics program, an accelerated graduate degree for high-achieving students. The department is also active in the Executive Ph.D. in Business program, both in teaching and doctoral supervision.

The Mathematical Sciences department leads the Center for Analytics and Data Science (CADS), where students and faculty actively engage outside of the classroom. We highly value collaboration with faculty in other departments and have a particularly strong record of leadership in such activities. Applied research is both welcomed and encouraged. Candidates are encouraged to learn more about our department and its faculty by visiting Academic Department Mathematical Sciences | Bentley University.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
