Job Description

BETSOL's team designs and runs software license tracking on ServiceNow SAM Professional. For each software publisher brought into scope, the team analyses contracts, models entitlements and consumption, and delivers a custom publisher view and dashboard that shows licenses owned, licenses consumed and the resulting compliance position. The publishers we work with span SaaS and enterprise software, each with its own license metrics, SKUs and data sources.

We are looking for a QA engineer who can test ServiceNow SAM implementation end to end and keep growing the test automation. You will validate the calculations behind every license number, to prove that dashboards match the underlying report data, and turn repeatable checks into automated scripts so that releases move from development to UAT to production quickly. You will work closely with ServiceNow developers, business analysts and project managers, and with business stakeholders during UAT.

Key responsibilities

Testing SAM publisher implementations

  • Review publisher analysis and stories, then write test scenarios and test cases that trace back to the agreed requirements and expected dashboard output.
  • Validate entitlement and consumption logic: rights owned, rights consumed, rights available and rights needed, license metrics (for example User Subscription versus Resource Consumption) and custom SKUs created for usage that standard SKUs do not cover.
  • Verify calculation rules such as contract term calculation with date tolerance, unit price by billing frequency, weighted average price across entitlements and ratchet behaviour where increases are applied and decreases are not.
  • Test server-side components on the custom SAM report table, including business rules, script includes, scheduled jobs that run by product group, and audit and data-fix scripts.
  • Reconcile dashboard values against report and source records for each product group, and validate data built from vendor exports and admin API extracts (deduplication, scoping by site and contract line).
  • Run functional, regression and UAT support cycles across the development, test and production instances.

Building and running test automation

  • Extend the existing SAM automation framework and test scripts, and deliver items on the SAM test automation roadmap against agreed timelines.
  • Automate regression suites for recurring publisher patterns so developers can run them when QA capacity is tight.
  • Use the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) and server-side scripts to automate data and calculation checks.
  • Keep scripts maintainable, documented and reusable across publishers.

Quality process and reporting

  • Log, track and retest defects; record evidence and keep test case documents current.
  • Produce a QA sign-off document for each release with test case counts, pass results, defects raised and fixes verified, before promotion to UAT.
  • Support stakeholder reviews of dashboards before production, and fold their feedback into validation before deployment.
  • Take part in sprint ceremonies, estimate QA effort and raise risks to delivery early.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on QA experience on the ServiceNow platform, within at least 3 years of overall software testing experience.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow SAM Professional or Software Asset Management concepts: entitlements, license metrics, software models, reconciliation and compliance.
  • Practical test automation experience, ideally with ServiceNow ATF, and enough JavaScript to read and write server-side scripts and GlideRecord queries.
  • Strong data validation skills: comfortable reconciling numbers across tables, reports and spreadsheets, and explaining where a figure comes from.
  • Experience writing structured test cases and sign-off reports, and using Jira and a test management tool such as Zephyr.
  • Clear written and spoken English, with the confidence to walk stakeholders through test results and to discuss your own past work in depth.

Preferred qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA); a Certified Implementation Specialist in Software Asset Management (CIS-SAM) is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to software licensing models for SaaS and enterprise publishers (named user, subscription, resource or consumption based).
  • Experience testing REST API integrations and vendor usage exports.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and ALM tools such as Jira.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
