Position Overview

The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator is embedded within Netflix’s Safe@ team and provides 24/7/365 operational support for the continuous monitoring and protection of Netflix’s people, assets, business operations, and facilities. This role is responsible for monitoring security, communications, surveillance, and fire/life safety systems while serving as a key liaison between on-site security personnel and other key cross-functional teams within the Enterprise Security organization. The GSOC Operator is responsible for timely incident detection, accurate documentation, effective communication, and immediate escalation of routine and critical events. This role ensures continuous situational awareness and supports operational response efforts to maintain a safe and secure operating environment across Netflix’s enterprise.

Shift Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday (2pm - 10:30pm)

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitor all security, communications, surveillance, and fire/life safety systems across designated locations using approved monitoring platforms.
  • Proactively monitor CCTV and remote surveillance systems to identify suspicious activity, security concerns, or operational disruptions.
  • Respond promptly to all security, fire/life safety, and operational system alarms in accordance with established procedures.
  • Receive and respond to routine and emergency communications through phones, radios, intercoms, and other communication systems.
  • Provide clear direction and timely guidance to employees, on-site security personnel, and relevant stakeholders during routine and emergency situations.
  • Escalate complaints, unusual activity, and critical event information without delay to designated internal and external contacts.
  • Accurately document all routine and unusual events through incident reports, shift reports, pass-down logs, and other required reporting systems.
  • Maintain situational awareness of ongoing incidents and provide timely status updates to GSOC leadership and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Monitor and control two-way communication systems to ensure effective operational coordination across security teams.
  • Identify and immediately report missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment, surveillance systems, alarms, or communication infrastructure.
  • Support coordination efforts across on-site security teams and other Enterprise Security functions to ensure effective incident response and operational continuity.
  • Initiate emergency notifications and response protocols in accordance with site post orders and established escalation procedures.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in a security control center environment
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred but not required) in International Relations, Security Studies, or a related field
  • Working level proficiency in web-based social media platforms, search tools, productivity applications, and communication technology
  • Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously and function in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to work with highly confidential information
  • Excellent personal communication and diplomacy skills with the ability to work inclusively with others
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizations
  • Multilingual capabilities is a plus
