The posting

About the Role

Looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design, equipment engineering, and fabrication for industrial water treatment, desalination, and wastewater treatment projects.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical calculations, pressure vessel and tank design, piping systems, fabrication drawings, and equipment specifications. This role is suited to a design-oriented engineer who can independently handle mechanical engineering deliverables and coordinate with vendors, fabrication teams, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical design and engineering for water and wastewater treatment equipment and packaged systems.
  • Prepare and review General Arrangement Drawings (GADs), fabrication drawings, mechanical datasheets, and equipment specifications.
  • Design and review pressure vessels, storage tanks, filters, skid-mounted equipment, and piping systems.
  • Perform mechanical calculations for vessels, tanks, supports, nozzles, pumps, and equipment foundations.
  • Review piping layouts, isometrics, material specifications, and equipment interfaces.
  • Coordinate fabrication activities, vendor drawings, welding documentation, inspections, FAT, and hydrotesting.
  • Prepare material take-offs (MTOs), bills of materials (BOMs), and technical procurement documents.
  • Support site installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8–10+ years of relevant mechanical design and engineering experience, preferably in water treatment EPC projects.
  • Strong knowledge of pressure vessel design, process piping, storage tanks, and industrial equipment fabrication.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, API 650, AWWA, and relevant ASTM standards.
  • Experience with GRP/FRP tanks and piping systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D engineering tools such as Plant 3D, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of welding, NDT, hydrotesting, material selection, and corrosion protection.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for a hands-on mechanical design engineer, not someone whose experience is limited to maintenance, site supervision, or CAD drafting.

Experience with an EPC contractor, pressure vessel manufacturer, skid fabricator, or water treatment equipment OEM will be a strong advantage.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
