Job Description

Treasurer

London & Regions | Permanent

Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm. We operate a 3 days in the office, 2 days from home working model. As an inclusive employer, we are willing to consider flexible working requests.

Exceptional by design. A career in treasury that keeps a global firm moving.

The opportunity

Join a team where your expertise truly matters. Pinsent Masons is looking for a Treasurer to support the full range of Treasury operations and help the Treasury Manager deliver key projects across our international business.

You will work across cashflow, banking administration, funding, controls and audit activity, helping to keep our financial operations accurate, compliant and effective. The role offers broad exposure to global banking relationships, client-money processes and finance colleagues across the firm.

At Pinsent Masons, your career is exceptional by design - intentionally shaped to support high performance, meaningful development and long-term progression.

What you’ll do

Bring your experience to the table and play a key role in the success of our firm, building trusted relationships and delivering meaningful impact, including:

• Manage core banking administration, including opening and closing bank accounts, online banking access, mandates, approval structures and global bank-contact records.

• Support daily cashflow, cash pooling and overseas funding, while monitoring interest rates and bank charges across our jurisdictions.

• Arrange bank guarantees, including rent guarantees and bid or performance bonds, to support firm operations and client bids.

• Review treasury budgets, bank reconciliations, cashier bank-balance reports and control accounts, resolving issues and maintaining accurate records.

• Support sanctions, anti-money laundering, tax-reporting and audit requirements, including the annual Solicitors Accounts Rules client-monies audit and internal audit requests.

• Coordinate payment activity and improvements, including international payroll payments, payment authorisations, client-payment workflows, templates and file uploads for expenses and supplier payments.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you'll need to bring:

• At least three years’ treasury experience, with good practical knowledge of banking operations.

• Experience working in a law firm or another professional services organisation.

• A thorough approach to financial processes, controls and authorisations, with strong accuracy and attention to detail.

• The ability to organise a busy workload, use your initiative and meet frequent deadlines.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and levels.

• Good IT literacy; knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Aderant would be beneficial, as would an understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Why Pinsent Masons

Our “exceptional by design” approach means we’ve deliberately shaped a firm where you can do your best work. We combine meaningful work, clear expectations and the support to build a career that works for you. Why join us?

• Meaningful work, real impact – the opportunity to contribute to initiatives and projects that have a genuine impact on our clients and the success of a leading international law firm.

• A firm that backs your growth – clear expectations, structured development and real investment in helping you reach your potential.

• A progressive culture – collaborative, inclusive and forward-looking, with the space to innovate and do your best work

What happens next?

Once your application has been submitted and reviewed, our Talent Acquisition team will share the outcome with you by email.

We typically hold two interview stages providing the opportunity to meet different members of the hiring team at each stage. The first stage is typically conducted virtually and the second stage typically in person at the office in which the role would be based. However, we strive to remain flexible depending on the requirements of the role or the candidate.

Our commitment

At Pinsent Masons, we are committed to recruiting and retaining the best talent and building an inclusive and fair workplace. We value the strength that comes from different experiences and strive to create an environment where everyone feels they belong.

We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates and are dedicated to ensuring equitable opportunities throughout our recruitment processes. In line with local laws and cultural contexts across the jurisdictions in which we operate, we encourage people of all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences to apply.

If you need reasonable adjustments or accommodations to participate in our recruitment process or to perform the role, please tell us, we will work with you to identify a suitable approach.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
