The posting

The Global Payment Tech team is the core engine powering ByteDance's global payment and financial services, spanning payment acquiring, wallets, financial products, insurance, and foreign exchange for users and merchants worldwide.

We span engineering, data, and AI, building high-concurrency, highly available systems across multi-currency, multi-market complexity, and embedding AI into risk control, credit decisioning, and operations automation.

You will grow cross-disciplinary expertise at the intersection of payments, finance, and AI.

About the Team Our team is responsible for providing ByteDance’s global users and merchants with a first-class payment experience by building a strong and robust infrastructure and platform to support fast product iteration and key feature development. Global Payments powers payment capabilities across multiple ByteDance international business lines. As an intern on this team, you won’t be working on a side project built to be thrown away. You’ll be given a scoped, real piece of the payment product, paired with a dedicated mentor, and supported through onboarding, design review, and code review until your work ships. By the end of the internship, you’ll have shipped code that real users and merchants depend on, and you’ll understand how payment needs differ across global markets. We encourage a culture of self-driven, intellectual curiosity, openness and problem-solving.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship. Our internship program offers students hands-on experience, industry exposure, and opportunities to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. Interns will gain practical experience, explore potential career paths, and participate in social events, learning programs, and development workshops alongside industry professionals. Candidates may apply to a maximum of two positions across Our Company and its affiliates globally. Applications will be considered in the order they are submitted. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply early. Please clearly state your availability in your resume, including your start and end dates.

What You’ll Do - Own a scoped project within Global Payments, from technical design through implementation, testing, and launch - Work alongside your mentor and the wider team to build and improve payment features across web and client platforms - Learn to navigate and contribute to a large, mature codebase — reading existing code, tracing behavior, and making changes that fit the surrounding patterns - Write well-tested code and clear documentation, and learn why correctness and reliability standards are higher in payments than in most domains - Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team rituals as a full member of the team

Minimum Qualification(s) - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, and returning to the program following the internship. - Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, Go, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Kotlin, or Swift. - A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and systems concepts.

Preferred Qualification(s) - Some hands-on experience with web development (e.g. JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Vue) or mobile development (e.g. Android/Kotlin, iOS/Swift) through coursework, personal projects, or prior internships. - Ability to communicate clearly, ask questions early, and collaborate in a team environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
