The posting

The GenAI & Emerging Products Quality team supports a diverse portfolio of global products across ByteDance, including fast-evolving GenAI and Emerging Product ecosystems. Our mission goes beyond quality auditing. We act as a strategic quality partner to Product, Operations, Policy, Data, and other cross-functional teams, using quality signals, operational insights, and frontline expertise to identify risks, improve processes, strengthen policy implementation, and support safe and sustainable product growth. As our products and technologies continue to evolve, the Quality team plays an important role in ensuring quality and safety considerations are embedded into product decisions, operational changes, launches, and improvement initiatives.

As a Quality Team Leader for GenAI & Emerging Products, you will lead a team of IC professionals supporting multiple global products and markets. This role requires a strong combination of people leadership, quality expertise, project management, stakeholder management, and analytical thinking. You will be responsible not only for driving strong quality performance, but also for developing the team, leading cross-functional quality initiatives, managing complex projects, and ensuring Quality operates as an effective partner to Product, Policy, Operations, Data, and other stakeholders. You will work in a fast-moving environment where priorities, products, and risk landscapes evolve quickly. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, setting direction, influencing stakeholders, and turning quality insights into scalable improvements.

Responsibilities: - Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Quality team, including team members across different locations, markets and products. - Manage team performance through regular coaching, feedback, goal setting, performance reviews, and structured development plans. - Manage team capacity, resource allocation, and priorities across multiple products, markets, projects, and evolving business needs. - Lead and coordinate multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives simultaneously, managing timelines, priorities, dependencies, risks, stakeholders, and deliverables. - Act as a project lead for key Quality initiatives, driving projects from planning through execution and ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and timely delivery. - Build strong partnerships with Product, Policy, Operations, Data, BPO, and other global stakeholders, acting as a key Quality point of contact. - Navigate competing priorities and changing business needs, making sound decisions and ensuring the team remains focused on the highest-impact areas. - Represent the Quality team in cross-functional and leadership discussions, communicating performance, project progress, risks, resource needs, and strategic priorities. - Drive operational excellence and identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness, processes, scalability, and overall Quality impact.

Minimum Qualification(s): - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. - 2+ years of people leadership experience, with a strong track record in coaching, developing, and managing team performance. - Experience in Quality, Trust & Safety, Operations, Risk, Product Operations, or a related environment. - Proven experience leading cross-functional projects or programs across multiple stakeholders, products, or markets. - High attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across countries and time zones. - Resilience and emotional maturity, with the ability to support teams operating in content environments.

Preferred Qualification(s): - Data analysis and reporting skills; with exposure to AI, Product, Policy, or Data teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
