The posting

Be the on-ground shift leader for Bar and Bar Prep, ensuring smooth service, consistent beverage quality and strong operational standards. The Supervisor leads by example, supports Associates during service and ensures the Bar is prepared, clean and ready to deliver a great guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Bar & Shift Operations

  • Lead Bar and Bar Prep operations during assigned shifts and ensure smooth, efficient service.
  • Prepare and oversee beverages according to established recipes, portioning and presentation standards.
  • Manage Bar Prep, mise en place, batching and restocking to ensure service readiness.
  • Monitor beverage quality, consistency and presentation throughout the shift.
  • Monitor ticket flow, service timing and communication with Floor to support an efficient guest experience.
  • Identify and resolve day-to-day operational issues, escalating more complex matters to the Assistant Manager or Manager when required.

Team Leadership & Support

  • Conduct shift briefings and allocate Bar and Bar Prep responsibilities according to operational needs.
  • Guide and support Bar Associates during service, providing immediate and constructive feedback.
  • Lead by example in beverage preparation, cleanliness, hospitality and teamwork.
  • Support the onboarding and on-the-job training of new team members.
  • Step in and support the team during peak service periods.

Guest Experience & Sales

  • Engage guests warmly and confidently explain Mr Bucket’s beverage offerings.
  • Build strong knowledge of cacao-led beverages, seasonal offerings and other relevant products.
  • Recommend beverages based on guest preferences and proactively identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell.
  • Support the team in delivering knowledgeable and genuine product recommendations.

Stock, Hygiene & Operational Standards

  • Monitor stock levels during shifts and ensure ingredients, packaging and supplies are replenished as required.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation, storage, labelling and handling of ingredients.
  • Monitor wastage and portion control and flag unusual or excessive wastage to management.
  • Ensure cleaning, hygiene, food safety and opening/closing duties are completed according to company standards.
  • Report shortages, wastage, equipment issues and unfinished duties clearly to the Assistant Manager or Manager.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with Floor, Retail, Kitchen and Experiences to ensure smooth coordination across the guest journey.
  • Participate in cross-training and rotation across departments where operationally required.
  • Support events, workshops and special beverage activations when required.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness, sales, service and guest experience of the wider Dempsey operation.

The Right Person

You are warm, curious and genuinely enjoy hospitality and beverages. You take pride in producing consistent, high-quality drinks and enjoy sharing your product knowledge and enthusiasm with guests and teammates.

You are a hands-on shift leader who is comfortable giving direction, supporting Associates and stepping in wherever needed. You are proactive, dependable and calm under pressure, with a strong eye for quality, cleanliness and service standards.

Working Conditions

  • 5-day work week on a rotating roster.
  • Weekend and public holiday work is required.
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
  • May be required to support events, activations and operational needs outside standard service periods.
