The posting

POSITION SUMMARY

Business-facing leader accountable for shaping and executing a risk-based EHS strategy across three connected scopes: Commercial HVAC (CHVAC), Engineering Research & Development, and Carrier Excellence (CX). The role links product and technology decisions with field execution and operational learning, ensuring EHS requirements are embedded from concept, design and testing through installation, service, maintenance, modernization and customer support.

The role is expected to deliver sustainable business outcomes, strengthen leadership accountability and accelerate risk reduction.

SCOPE AND LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS

· Own an integrated multi-year EHS strategy and annual operating plan aligned with CSA and CHVAC business priorities, growth, acquisitions and emerging technology risks.

· Serve as the senior EHS business partner and primary coordination point for CHVAC and R&D leadership, while building strong matrix relationships with Engineering, Technology, Product Management, Operations, Field Leadership and Carrier Excellence.

· Partner with R&D, Engineering, Product Management and Operations to integrate EHS requirements into New Product Introduction, Passport reviews, design and engineering changes, technology development and manufacturing readiness.

· Establish EHS deliverables, governance checkpoints and escalation paths for NPI and engineering-driven change, with emphasis on identifying and controlling risk early in the product lifecycle.

· Set consistent EHS expectations for laboratories, testing facilities, prototype builds and pilot operations, including hazardous materials, refrigerants, pressure systems, electrical hazards, robotics, automation and industrial hygiene exposures

· Create a CHVAC-wide learning system that identifies recurring and systemic risk, deploys read-across actions and spreads proven practices across businesses and service branches.

· Serve as the EHS functional leader within Carrier Excellence for CSA, integrating EHS into operating-system deployment, strategic planning, standard work, management reviews and continuous improvement priorities across CSA.

· Build a disciplined EHS improvement portfolio using A3 problem solving, action planning and continuous improvement methods; prioritize work based on severity, exposure, recurrence, compliance risk and business value.

· Sponsor cross-functional improvement projects that simplify execution, increase management-system maturity, improve data quality and strengthen closure and effectiveness verification of corrective actions.

· Develop executive operating reviews and visual management that clarify risk, progress, barriers and decisions required, avoiding low-value reporting activity and emphasizing business outcomes.

· Participate in EHS due diligence and identify liabilities, material risks, integration priorities and EHS maturity for acquisitions and newly aligned organizations.

· Develop for acquisitions and govern integration roadmaps, milestones and escalation paths from post-close transition through sustainable adoption of Carrier EHS expectations and management systems.

· Assess in acquisitions and new organizations EHS culture maturity, leadership behaviors, employee engagement and readiness for change within acquired organizations; develop integration-focused change strategies that align leaders and reinforce expectations.

· Monitor regulatory and internal requirement changes affecting CHVAC Services, Engineering and R&D; ensure implications are translated into governance, priorities and implementation plans.

· Act as a credible senior advisor who can constructively challenge decisions, communicate with executive audiences and align diverse stakeholders around enterprise priorities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
