About This Role

The Facilities & Utilities Manager leads the safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective operation of facilities and utilities for the Fort Worth Plant while serving as the U.S. Subject Matter Expert (SME) and governance leader for all U.S. HVAC manufacturing sites.

In Fort Worth, this role has direct line management and operational ownership, leading permanent facilities employees and third-party service partners (JLL) to execute daily operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, infrastructure reliability, site-support requirements, and site budget management. The Manager owns facility and utility readiness for Fort Worth equipment installation, validation, commissioning, production launch, and ongoing operations.

In an extended U.S. scope focused specifically on U.S. HVAC plants, this position acts as an internal consultant and SME. You will establish and oversee governance, compliance, technical standards, and performance metrics across these facilities, providing technical oversight and guidance on major projects and infrastructure initiatives. While local plant teams retain day-to-day execution accountability and site budget management, you will drive standardization, recommend CapEx requirements, and ensure alignment across the U.S. HVAC footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

Fort Worth Plant Operational Management & Ownership

  • Direct Operations & Budget: Hold full operational and budget responsibility for the Fort Worth facility, ensuring safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective support for manufacturing operations and business continuity.
  • Team & Vendor Management: Direct, manage, and hold accountable permanent Fort Worth facilities personnel and outsourced integrated facilities partners (JLL). Oversee staffing, work-order execution, preventive/corrective maintenance, emergency response, service levels, response times, cost and invoice control, and vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs.
  • Critical Utilities & Infrastructure: Own the integrity, capacity, availability, commissioning, and documented acceptance of Fort Worth critical utilities—including electrical power, water, gas, compressed air, HVAC, process cooling, fire protection, and other infrastructure required for production launch and ongoing operations.
  • Site Governance & Handover: Establish operating routines, KPIs, audits, and risk assessments for Fort Worth. Ensure commissioning, capacity validation, punch-list closure, as-built drawings, warranties, operating manuals, asset records, and formal operational handovers are completed.

U.S. Project & CapEx Execution

  • Project Lifecycle Leadership: Lead U.S. construction, expansion, renovation, and utility projects through design review, constructability, sourcing, execution, commissioning, acceptance, and handover. Own the master schedule, milestones, cost forecast, budget variances, project risks, contractor safety and performance, change orders, punch lists, acceptance criteria, and closeout documentation to ensure projects are completed on time and in accordance with agreed scope, technical requirements, budget, quality, safety, and compliance commitments.
  • CapEx Strategy & Management: Develop, recommend, and manage facilities-, construction-, and utilities-related CapEx requirements, including project scope, user and technical requirements, solution alternatives, cost estimates, business cases, annual budgets, forecasts, sourcing inputs, expenditure tracking, and change control. Provide timely recommendations and escalate decisions as needed to protect cost, schedule, compliance, and operational readiness.

U.S. HVAC Plants Governance & SME Consulting

  • Standards & Governance: Define, govern, and standardize common facilities and utilities technical specifications, operating procedures, safety controls, and performance metrics specifically across all U.S. HVAC manufacturing plants.
  • Internal Technical SME: Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert and internal consultant for local plant teams across the U.S. HVAC network, providing expert technical guidance, problem-solving support, compliance assessments, and benchmarking.
  • Project Oversight: Provide non-budgetary technical oversight, design review, constructability assessments, and SME guidance for construction, expansion, renovation, and major utility projects at other U.S. HVAC locations.
  • CapEx & Standardization Guidance: Develop recommendations for facilities-, construction-, and utilities-related CapEx requirements across the U.S. HVAC network. Help local plant teams construct robust business cases, technical scope definitions, and cost estimates without holding direct financial sign-off for those external plant budgets.
  • Vendor & Procurement Alignment: Partner with Procurement to establish enterprise standards for supplier requirements, support national contract alignment (including JLL), and help evaluate contractor technical capability across the HVAC footprint.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with EHS, Operations, Finance, Engineering, Real Estate, Legal, and local plant leadership to manage risk, ensure capital governance, and drive standard practices.

Work Presence, Reporting & Emergency Escalation

  • On-Site Presence, Reporting & Escalation: Maintain a primary work presence at the Fort Worth Plant, with increased on-site coverage during construction, commissioning, equipment installation, validation, and startup. Travel to U.S. plants and project sites as required to support the governance and project portfolio scope and remain available to support escalation of critical facility or utility emergencies. Consolidate and report U.S. HVAC facilities, utilities, construction, and related CapEx performance, including cost, schedule, reliability, compliance, energy, and risk indicators, with clear ownership and follow-through on corrective actions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Industrial, Systems Engineering or Construction.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial facilities, plant engineering, infrastructure, or utilities management.
  • 10+ years of experience managing both direct internal personnel and outsourced integrated facility management (IFM) providers (e.g., JLL).
  • 5+ years of experience owning and managing a multi-million-dollar site operational and capital budget.
  • 5+ years of experience commissioning critical utility infrastructure, managing industrial startup/expansion projects, and supporting manufacturing equipment launch under compressed schedules.
  • 5+ years of experience establishing facilities governance, technical standards, and performance metrics across multi-site manufacturing networks in an advisory, SME, or matrixed capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or specialization in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction, or Business Administration.
  • Direct technical expertise and experience within the HVAC industry or related industrial equipment manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong advisory, matrix leadership, and consultative skills with a track record of influencing plant-level teams without direct line authority.
  • Experience navigating multi-site matrix organizations, balancing direct site accountability with network-wide standardization goals.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
