Job description

Castrol | People & Culture graduate programme

Build broad P&C expertise through cross-functional rotations, while developing the commercial understanding and global perspective needed to support our business and people.

About the Graduate Programme

At Castrol, our people are central to how we grow our business, serve our customers and build for the future. Our People & Culture team partners with the business to attract, develop, engage and retain the talent we need to succeed.

As a People & Culture Graduate, you will join a development programme designed to build strong P&C foundations and prepare you for a long-term career in the function. Through a series of cross-functional rotations, you may gain experience across P&C Partnering, Centres of Expertise such as Talent and Reward, and Operations & Advisory.

Each assignment will give you the opportunity to contribute to real business and people priorities, build practical P&C capability and understand how different parts of the function work together to support the business.

What You Will Experience

  • A structured development journey through cross-functional P&C rotations.
  • Experience across areas such as P&C Partnering, Talent, Reward, Operations & Advisory, and other P&C disciplines.
  • Opportunities to build broad P&C capability and deeper expertise through meaningful assignments.
  • Exposure to business priorities and insight into how P&C contributes to organisational performance.
  • Ownership of real work, supported by experienced P&C colleagues, line managers and programme leadership.
  • Potential international exposure where relevant to your development and business needs.
  • Continuous learning through experience, feedback, challenge and formal development opportunities.

What You May Work On

Your assignments will reflect programme priorities, your development needs and business requirements. They may include opportunities to:

  • Partner with the business on organisation, workforce and people priorities.
  • Use people data and insight to understand challenges and develop practical recommendations.
  • Contribute to talent, capability, performance, reward, culture or employee experience initiatives.
  • Support organisational change and transformation activities.
  • Help translate people priorities into clear and deliverable actions.
  • Explore how P&C solutions need to adapt across different markets and business contexts.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Organisational Behaviour or another relevant discipline.
  • A strong academic track record from a recognised university.
  • 1-2 years relevant working experience following graduation
  • A genuine interest in building a long-term career in People & Culture.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, learning agility and critical thinking, with the ability to explore issues beyond the surface.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data and information into meaningful insight and practical recommendations.
  • Commercial curiosity and an interest in how people, organisation and culture contribute to business performance.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders professionally.
  • The ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across different cultures, perspectives and working styles.
  • Adaptability, initiative, maturity and resilience, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and change.
  • Willingness and flexibility to relocate for selected assignments where required.
  • Strong English communication skills and the confidence to work in a multicultural business environment.

Desirable

  • Relevant internships, placements, projects or early-career experience in P&C, consulting, business or a related field.
  • Experience studying, living or working in a multicultural environment.
  • Evidence of leadership, initiative or meaningful contribution through university, community or professional activities.

Mobility and International Exposure

Mobility is an important element of the programme. You should be open to relocating for selected assignments where this supports your development and aligns with business needs.

Depending on assignment availability, programme priorities and applicable mobility requirements, opportunities may include experience in another market, such as other countries in AsPac. Specific locations are not guaranteed and will be determined through individual development and rotation planning.

Your Future at Castrol

Your journey is designed to build broad P&C capability, commercial understanding and the confidence to operate across different parts of the function.

By the end of the programme, our ambition is for you to have developed strong P&C foundations, meaningful cross-functional experience and the potential to take on a substantive P&C role within Castrol.

Curious about people, commercially minded and ready to build your career across the breadth of People & Culture? We would love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
