Caterpillar currently has an opening for an Shop Technician III position supporting Reman Drivetrain located in the West Fargo, ND facility. The Shop Technician lll proficiently operates a variety of tools and equipment to assemble and disassemble product at an expert level.

Education

· High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Basic Qualifications

· Minimum 3 – 5 years job related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

· Previous hoist experience required

· Must possess the ability to learn new tasks and be able to read/write and interpret standard work instructions

General Tasks and Responsibilities

· Required to utilize various computer systems such as PinPoint, CRDL Production Systems and Teams Forms.

· Effectively performs general and advanced assembly and disassembly operations with no assistance

· Ability to effectively perform rework operations independently

· Ability to effectively train new team members on advanced assembly and disassembly operations

· Can identify and accurately categorize wear patterns of parts

· Ability to efficiently and effectively use hand tools, power tools, gauges, presses, torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specifications

· Ability to safely use overhead cranes/hoists and/or electric pallet jacks to move parts in and out of area.

· Assists in the development of new assembly and disassembly procedures

· Able to effectively train other techs in various assembly and disassembly operations

· Assist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessary

· Use precision measuring devices to effectively assemble and/or disassemble final product

· Assist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessary

· Participate in the CI/PID Process

· Ability to understand labeling and flow of work in progress

· Ability to understand and follow SWI’s and daily Production Schedules

· Ability to adhere to facility policies to include good attendance and company values

· Candidates will work in an environment without close supervision.

· Any duties or tasks that may be assigned to promote cross training or support for various areas of the shop

· Other duties as assigned

· Follow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures and hazardous risk assessments and using the proper Personal Protective equipment for the specific job being performed

· Ensure customer requirements are met

· Ability to Interface with plant management, supervisors and production personnel

Compensation & Benefits Offered!

· Hourly Pay Range: $24.33 - $30.97 (salary negotiations to be offered based on skills/experience)

· 2nd shift Work Hours: 4:15PM - 2:45AM

· 2nd shift will receive an additional 7% night shift premium.

· Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays

· 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime

· 80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)

· 10 Paid holidays

· 100% 401k match up to 6% offered on day 1 of employment

· Health, dental, vision, & life insurance offered on day 1 of employment

· Potential annual performance increase

· Paid holiday shut down at the end of the year (dependent upon business needs)

Summary Pay Range:

$24.33 - $30.97

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
