We are seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to strengthen IT service continuity, business contingency planning, and disaster recovery capabilities within a federal government environment. In this remote role, you will develop and maintain recovery strategies that help ensure critical systems and services remain available during disruptive events. You will conduct risk assessments, evaluate business impacts, and establish practical recovery procedures aligned with federal cybersecurity standards. Working closely with IT operations, application development, cybersecurity, and risk management teams, you will help organizations prepare for incidents and restore essential services efficiently. You will also contribute to governance, risk, and compliance initiatives while advising stakeholders on continuity requirements and improvement opportunities. This position is suited to a detail-oriented professional who combines technical expertise, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills.

Accountabilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update IT contingency, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans in accordance with organizational requirements and applicable federal guidance, including NIST SP 800-34.
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities, evaluate potential disruptions, and establish appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Design service recovery procedures and define recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs) for critical systems and services.
  • Coordinate with directorates, offices, and operational teams to integrate IT continuity and recovery strategies into broader preparedness initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate contingency plans, recovery procedures, and supporting documentation, providing regular progress and status updates to leadership.
  • Monitor developments in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, continuity planning, and federal regulatory guidance to keep recovery strategies current.
  • Develop and deliver training to ensure employees understand their responsibilities during service disruptions and recovery activities.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal requirements, including FISMA, OMB Circular A-130, the E-Government Act, NIST SP 800-34, NIST SP 800-53 Revision 5, NIST SP 800-37 Revision 2, and FEMA's Continuity Guidance Circular.
  • Recommend improvements to contingency and recovery plans based on evolving technologies, business requirements, regulatory changes, incidents, and exercise outcomes.
  • Support governance, risk, and compliance activities when not assigned to service recovery tasks, including policy development, assessments, and authorization activities.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT service continuity, disaster recovery, cybersecurity policy, or business continuity planning.
  • At least 3 years of experience documenting policies, procedures, and operational plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Active Public Trust clearance.
  • Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity and continuity requirements, including FISMA, NIST guidance, and FEMA standards.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery tools, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and service recovery methodologies.
  • Experience conducting business impact analyses and developing continuity and recovery plans for complex IT environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate, compliant documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Ability to pass applicable pre-employment screening and qualifications.
  • Ability to work remotely using a government-imaged laptop and maintain availability during the federal client's standard office hours.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer, with occasional standing or movement as required.
  • Master's degree in a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as ABCP, CBCP, CISSP, CISA, DRCS, or a Disaster Recovery Institute International certification.

  • Familiarity with federal agency-specific systems or classified information environments.
  • Experience using ServiceNow.
  • Salary: Starting annual salary range of $125,000–$130,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
