Um den erfolgreichen Wachstumspfad der Option 4.0 fortzusetzen und zu gestalten, suchen wir einen hochmotivierten Senior Data Engineer (m/w/d) für unsere Kunden aus der Fertigungsindustrie. Dein Impact: Ausbau der Kompetenzen des Smart-Milling-Teams in industrieller Datenanalyse, Prozessverständnis und Operational Excellence. Die Rolle verbindet Engineering, Analytics, Software und Cloud-Betrieb und trägt dazu bei, aus Industriedaten echten Kundennutzen zu machen.

Deine Aufgaben

  • Du konzipierst, baust und wartest skalierbare Data-Pipelines, um komplexe industrielle Prozess- und Sensordaten verlässlicher verfügbar zu machen
  • Du unterstützt Experimentier- und Forschungsaktivitäten und überführst Prototypen (z. B. aus der Data Science) in performante, produktionsreife Software-Lösungen
  • Du optimierst die CI/CD-Pipelines für Datenprodukte, automatisierst Deployments und erhöhst die Zuverlässigkeit und Effizienz der Cloud-Infrastruktur
  • Du arbeitest an der Schnittstelle zwischen Softwareengineering, Data Science, R&D und Fachexperten, um datengetriebene Features direkt in die Produktentwicklung einzubringen
  • Du stellst eine hohe Datenqualität und konsistente Datenmodelle sicher, damit Fachexperten und Analytics-Teams auf valide Daten zugreifen können
  • Du analysierst und aggregierst hochfrequente Sensor- und Zeitreihendaten (z. B. aus Azure Event Hubs / IoT Hubs) mittels Kusto Query Language (KQL) und machst massive Datenströme für nachgelagerte Analytics- und Monitoring-Systeme nutzbar

Das bringst Du mit

Must-have

  • Du bringst einen fundierten Hintergrund im Engineering oder in der Analytik auf Senior-Niveau mit und verfügst über ausgeprägte Fähigkeiten in Datenanalyse und Ursachenforschung
  • Du überzeugst durch die Fähigkeit, komplexe industrielle Systeme zu analysieren und daraus umsetzbare Erkenntnisse abzuleiten
  • Praktische Erfahrung mit Python sowie nachweisbare Erfahrung in der Konzeption und Umsetzung von ETL/ELT Prozessen für grosse, reale Datensätze
  • Du verbindest eine ausgeprägte Problemlösungs- und Kommunikationsfähigkeit und hast Spassan der Arbeit in einem interdisziplinären F&E-Umfeld und Agilen Methoden
  • Bereitschaft für mindestens 3 Tage pro Woche vor Ort im Raum St. Gallen
  • Du arbeitest gerne in einem internationalem Kundenumfeld und kommunizierst im Arbeitsalltag fliessend auf Deutsch und Englisch

On top bringst du idealerweise mit:

  • Praktische Erfahrung im Bereich DevOps (CI/CD, Cloud-Betrieb z. B. in der Microsoft Azure Welt, Monitoring)
  • Erfahrung mit Azure Data Lake sowie Grundverständnis für Data Governance und Datenarchitekturen
  • Kenntnisse in der Prozess- oder Fertigungsindustrie, Industrieautomation, IoT oder Sensorik
  • Du bringst ein gutes Grundverständnis für statistische Modelle und Machine Learning mit – nicht, um selbst Modelle zu trainieren, sondern um die Anforderungen unserer Data Scientists genau zu verstehen und ihre Prototypen nahtlos in die Produktion zu überführen
  • Erfahrung in der technischen Betreuung oder Durchführung von Kundenprojekten
