The posting

COMPANY SUMMARY

We are a technology integrator specializing in access control, surveillance, and low-voltage infrastructure solutions. Our team designs, deploys, and supports enterprise-grade security systems for commercial, government, and institutional clients throughout Northern California.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Lead Security Technician takes ownership of the field — running wire, terminating, installing cameras, and commissioning access control hardware across commercial and institutional job sites. This is a hands-on lead role requiring deep proficiency with Milestone/OnSSI VMS platforms, Axis and Avigilon IP cameras, and S2 access control systems, combined with strong door hardware skills and the ability to guide other technicians and keep installs moving on schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pull and run low-voltage wire through commercial environments including conduit, open ceiling, and finished spaces
  • Terminate, test, and label structured cabling, camera drops, and access control wiring
  • Install and commission IP cameras from Axis, Avigilon, and Arecont — PTZ, fixed, and specialty
  • Configure and troubleshoot Milestone Systems and OnSSI VMS platforms at the field level
  • Install, wire, and configure S2 access control components including card readers, door strikes, mag locks, and control panels
  • Cut and prepare door hardware for electric strike and mag lock installations
  • Apply Wiegand protocol wiring standards for access control system integration
  • Support Cisco IP video surveillance infrastructure on networked deployments
  • Mentor and direct junior technicians on the job site
  • Ensure work quality meets company and customer standards before closeout
  • Coordinate with project management on schedule, material needs, and scope changes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of field experience in low-voltage installation — access control, CCTV, or security integration
  • Hands-on experience with Axis, Avigilon, or Arecont IP camera installation and configuration
  • Working knowledge of Milestone Systems or OnSSI VMS — device adding, camera configuration, basic troubleshooting
  • Experience with S2 or comparable access control platforms at the panel and reader level
  • Solid understanding of Wiegand protocol and access control wiring standards
  • Experience cutting and installing door strikes and wiring mag locks
  • Comfortable operating in a lead capacity — setting pace, answering questions, reviewing work
  • Hand tools, reliable transportation, and ability to pass background check and drug screen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Axis Network Video Certification or equivalent camera manufacturer training
  • Milestone Systems or OnSSI field-level certification
  • S2 Systems installation experience
  • Familiarity with Cisco IP video surveillance network infrastructure

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

  • Hourly rate: $28 – $42/hr based on experience
  • Full-time position with consistent work across active Northern California projects

WHY WORK WITH US

  • Lead-level field role with real project ownership and daily variety
  • Active pipeline of commercial, government, and institutional work in the Sacramento/Roseville market
  • Team-oriented environment with support from experienced PMs and engineers
  • Competitive pay with room to grow into supervisory or PM tracks

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
