POSITION SUMMARY

Constellis is seeking a technically capable, intellectually curious, and highly self-directed Physical Security Technology Specialist (PSTS) to support and advance a large-scale physical security technology environment across a premier client portfolio in San Diego (La Jolla).

This is not an entry-level technology role, a maintenance-only position, or a conventional security-management assignment. It is an opportunity for the successful candidate to help design, build, implement, and continuously improve the next generation of physical security technology within a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment. New ideas are encouraged. The successful candidate will inherit important systems, active projects, and an extensive existing technology ecosystem; however, they will not inherit a finished blueprint. The opportunity is to help define that blueprint. Working alongside Security Leadership, IT, Cybersecurity, Operations, and external technology partners, the PSTS will evaluate existing systems, identify opportunities for enhancement, test emerging technologies, challenge assumptions, and drive well-supported solutions from concept through implementation. (Budgets and final decisions rest with the client.)

This position is intended for someone who enjoys building, not merely administering. The ideal candidate is comfortable receiving a defined objective and independently determining the stakeholders, technical requirements, dependencies, risks, implementation strategy, and path to execution.

COMPENSATION

$110,000 to $140,000 annual base salary (plus bonuses), based on relevant experience, technical

  • Emergency help stations, intercoms, and IP communication systems
  • Artificial intelligence and video analytics platforms, including CVEDIA-RT and BriefCam
  • Integrated monitoring, dispatch, incident response, customer support, and law-enforcement coordination capabilities
  • An active portfolio of security technology upgrades, integrations, and modernization initiatives – within the framework of high-tech and life-science campuses
  • Administer, support, and optimize Milestone XProtect video management systems – integrating with CVEDIA-RT and BriefCam (and awareness of Genetec optionality).
  • Manage video infrastructure supporting more than 3,000 cameras across multiple campuses and properties.
  • Maintain recording integrity, platform availability, camera health, retention compliance, and user permissions.
  • Develop and enforce standards for camera deployment, configuration, firmware management, and technology lifecycle replacement.
  • Support Lenel access control systems and other physical access control platforms as required.
  • Troubleshoot readers, controllers, field devices, credentials, and system-level issues.
  • Assist with system upgrades, expansions, integrations, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, analytics platforms, artificial intelligence tools, and automation opportunities.
  • Test and validate new capabilities through proof-of-concept projects and pilot deployments (including several near-flight concepts with drones).
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, situational awareness, alarm management, and security outcomes.
  • Assist in advancing AI-driven monitoring, inference, training, alerting, and investigative capabilities.
  • Coordinate closely with server, storage, network, firewall, IT, and cybersecurity teams.
  • Manage integrations between video surveillance, access control, analytics, intercoms, communications systems, and monitoring platforms.
  • Assist in architecting scalable and resilient technology solutions that support operational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot cameras, access-control devices, readers, panels, VMS servers, analytics platforms, workstations, and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and maintenance activities with vendors, contractors, and integrators.
  • Monitor overall system health and proactively identify issues before they impact operations.
  • Support new deployments, technology refreshes, system expansions, and capital improvement projects (consistent with vision provided by client).
  • Assist in defining technical requirements, evaluating vendors, validating solutions, and implementing approved technologies.
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining operational continuity.

  • Experience supporting large-scale CCTV environments exceeding 1,000 cameras.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
