The posting

We are looking for an experienced SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Planning Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-wide planning and performance management solutions.

The role will take ownership of end-to-end SAC Planning architecture, translating complex finance and business planning requirements into scalable solutions across FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, workforce, CAPEX, sales and operational planning.

Working closely with CFOs, Finance Directors and senior stakeholders, you will act as a trusted advisor while providing technical leadership throughout the full implementation lifecycle. You will also define integration strategies across SAP S/4HANA, Datasphere, BW/4HANA, BW, ECC, HANA and non-SAP platforms, while ensuring solutions follow SAP best practices for performance, scalability and governance.

What Will You Do?

Key Responsibility:

  • Define end-to-end SAC Planning solution architecture.
  • Design enterprise planning models covering:
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Budgeting
  • Forecasting
  • Workforce Planning
  • Capital Planning
  • Sales Planning
  • Operational Planning
  • Establish planning design standards and governance frameworks.
  • Design multi-model planning architectures and integration strategies.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of planning solutions.
  • Develop planning roadmaps aligned to client business strategy.

Client Advisory

  • Act as trusted advisor to CFOs, Finance Directors, and Executive stakeholders.
  • Facilitate planning strategy workshops.
  • Lead requirements gathering and solution design sessions.
  • Challenge existing planning processes and recommend improvements.
  • Present solution designs and architecture decisions to senior stakeholders.
  • Support pre-sales and business development activities.

SAC Planning Delivery Leadership

  • Lead SAC Planning implementations from design through deployment.
  • Oversee consultants and development teams.
  • Review model designs and calculations.
  • Ensure adherence to SAP best practices.
  • Manage architecture risks and mitigation plans.
  • Support UAT, deployment, and hypercare activities.

Financial Planning Solution Design

Develop solutions for:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Rolling Forecasting
  • Annual Budgeting
  • Driver-Based Planning
  • Workforce Planning
  • CAPEX Planning
  • Cost Centre Planning
  • Revenue Planning
  • Profitability Planning
  • Scenario Planning
  • What-if Modelling
  • Predicative Forecasting

Integration Architecture

Design integrations between SAC and:

  • SAP S/4HANA
  • SAP Datasphere
  • SAP BW/4HANA
  • SAP BW
  • SAP ECC
  • SAP HANA
  • Non-SAP ERP systems
  • HR and Payroll platforms

Responsibilities include:

  • Data acquisition design
  • Import processes
  • Live connectivity
  • Data actions integration
  • Process automation

Technical Leadership

  • Define modelling standards.
  • Conduct architecture reviews.
  • Review data actions and advanced formulas.
  • Establish performance optimization guidelines.
  • Lead troubleshooting and solution optimization.
  • Mentor consultants and team members.

Who Do You Need to Be?

Required Skills & Experience

SAC Planning Expertise

  • 7+ years Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) experience.
  • 4+ years SAP Analytics Cloud Planning implementation experience.
  • Multiple end-to-end SAC Planning project deliveries as lead architect.
  • Deep understanding of planning and forecasting processes.
