The posting

Field-based Technical Sales Manager needed to drive deister's access control business by combining strong commercial instincts with deep product and technical expertise. You will work closely with installers, integrators, consultants and end-user organisations to specify, demonstrate and sell our access control and identification solutions — acting as the technical authority who can translate complex product capability into a compelling, workable solution for the customer.

For almost 40 years, deister has been at the forefront of the UK security sector. As a specialist design and manufacturing company based in Lincolnshire, we develop class-leading solutions trusted across critical infrastructure and industry — from intelligent key and asset management to GovPass-compliant access control and long-range vehicle identification. We are an independent, family-owned business with global reach, built on innovation, value engineering and trust.

What you will be doing

  • Driving sales of deister's access control product range by pairing technical expertise with a consultative sales approach
  • Providing pre-sales technical support, including system design input, product demonstrations and proof-of-concept trials
  • Working closely with installers, integrators, consultants and end-user organisations to specify the right solution for their security requirements
  • Translating product features and system architecture into clear, customer-facing value propositions
  • Delivering technical training and CPD presentations to installers, specifiers and consultants
  • Supporting tender and specification processes with technical documentation, schematics and product recommendations
  • Building strong relationships with key technical and commercial stakeholders across the supply chain
  • Working closely with product management and engineering teams to relay customer feedback and market requirements
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and forecasting to support pipeline management

This is a national, field-based role covering the whole of the UK, working from a home office with the flexibility to manage your own diary and travel schedule. You will travel to our Spalding HQ once a month for planning, collaboration and training.

What you will bring

The essentials

  • 3+ years of technical sales experience, ideally within access control, security systems or a related electronic/ID technology sector
  • Existing relationships within the installer, integrator or specifier community
  • Strong working knowledge of access control system architecture, credentials and integration principles
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear, commercially compelling solutions for a range of audiences
  • Confidence delivering product demonstrations, technical training and CPD presentations
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Fluent written and spoken English

It also helps if you have:

  • Experience working with specifiers such as M&E consultants or architects
  • Familiarity with GovPass, NPSA-assured systems or other compliance frameworks relevant to access control
  • A background in system integration, IT networking or electronic security installation
  • Strong commercial acumen — balancing customer value with margin discipline

We are building a team where everyone feels appreciated, accepted and free to be their authentic self, regardless of background, identity or circumstance. We know great candidates do not always tick every box. If most of this sounds like you, we would still love to hear from you

What is in it for you?

  • Competitive basic salary plus performance-based incentives
  • Car or mileage allowance
  • Company pension contribution
  • A structured onboarding programme and support from an experienced team
  • A flat, collaborative culture with real opportunities to grow

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
