The posting

Our client is seeking an experienced product leader to lead its Commercial Card, Integrated Payables, and AP Automation product team. This individual will own the product strategy, product team, technology roadmap, and commercialization of the company's commercial card, integrated payables, and related B2B payment solutions.

This leader will be responsible for building and developing the product team while modernizing existing products and launching new capabilities. The role requires deep commercial card or AP automation experience, strong knowledge of card economics, and a history of working with technology teams to build and launch payment products.

The ideal candidate understands the complete commercial card lifecycle, including credit programs, underwriting, AML, fraud, payment processing, servicing, and portfolio management. This person must understand the payment needs of commercial clients and how commercial cards and AP automation fit within their broader treasury and accounts payable processes.

What You Will Do

  • Establish and lead the product strategy for commercial cards, AP automation, integrated payables, virtual cards, and related B2B payment solutions.
  • Lead, develop, and support a team of product managers and product professionals responsible for product development, delivery, and ongoing management.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, priorities, performance expectations, and development plans across the product team.
  • Build the team structure and product-management practices needed to support business growth and product modernization.
  • Own the multi-year product and technology roadmap, balancing client needs, market opportunities, financial returns, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities.
  • Lead the full product lifecycle, including market research, business-case development, product requirements, technology development, testing, launch, commercialization, and ongoing management.
  • Partner with technology leadership to modernize existing platforms and build and launch new card and payment products.
  • Establish product governance, performance metrics, and delivery processes to track progress and hold teams accountable for results.
  • Oversee the complete commercial card product experience, including application, credit decisioning, onboarding, activation, transaction processing, controls, servicing, fraud management, and account closure.
  • Partner with credit, risk, AML, fraud, compliance, and legal leaders to establish product requirements, policies, and controls.
  • Own product and portfolio performance, including client adoption, payment volume, revenue, profitability, credit exposure, fraud losses, and operating results.
  • Develop financial models and business cases based on interchange revenue, rebates, pricing, processing expenses, credit losses, fraud losses, technology investments, and operating costs.
  • Establish pricing, rebate structures, product positioning, implementation plans, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Identify growth opportunities across commercial cards, integrated payables, virtual cards, supplier payments, and AP automation.
  • Translate client feedback, competitive intelligence, market trends, and technology developments into product priorities.
  • Partner with operations leadership to improve implementation, servicing, transaction management, exception handling, supplier enablement, and client experience.
  • Work with sales and relationship management leaders to support product positioning, client conversations, sales execution, and portfolio growth.
  • Engage with commercial clients and prospects to understand their treasury, procurement, accounts payable, and payment needs.
  • Manage strategic relationships with card networks, processors, technology providers, fintech partners, and other third-party vendors.
  • Oversee vendor performance, contracts, service levels, product dependencies, and third-party risk.
  • Communicate product strategy, investment priorities, performance, risks, and financial results to senior leadership.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in commercial cards, AP automation, integrated payables, B2B payments, or related product leadership roles.
  • Experience leading and developing product managers or other product professionals.
  • Deep expertise in commercial cards, AP automation, or integrated payables.
  • Experience establishing product strategy and leading products through development, launch, commercialization, and ongoing management.
  • Experience partnering with technology teams to build, modernize, and launch card or payment products.
  • End-to-end knowledge of commercial credit card programs, including credit decisioning, underwriting, AML, fraud, transaction processing, servicing, and portfolio management.
  • Strong financial knowledge of card economics, including interchange, rebates, pricing, processing expenses, credit losses, fraud losses, technology costs, and profitability.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable workflows, supplier payments, and commercial client payment needs.
  • Knowledge of card-network rules, regulatory requirements, risk controls, and B2B payment processes.
  • Experience developing business cases, managing product investments, and evaluating revenue, pricing, profitability, and portfolio performance.
  • Experience leading complex initiatives across technology, sales, operations, credit, risk, AML, fraud, legal, and compliance.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
