The posting

Wireline Operator – Pemba, Mozambique

Contract: position based in Pemba, Mozambique

Standard work schedule: 5 working days and 2 rest days, Monday to Friday.

The position may also involve offshore or remote field assignments according to SLB operational requirements. Such assignments may require rotational schedules, extended shifts and additional offshore readiness requirements.

Role Overview

We are looking for Wireline Operators to support wireline operations from Pemba and, when required, on offshore or remote field assignments. Previous wireline experience is preferred, while candidates with transferable experience in well intervention, drilling or other oilfield service environments may also be considered, subject to technical assessment and the applicable training programme.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support equipment preparation, checks and mobilisation before field operations.
  • Assist with safe rig-up, pressure testing, operation and rig-down in accordance with work procedures and under the required supervision.
  • Inspect, clean and perform routine maintenance on equipment within the authorised competency level.
  • Follow work instructions, risk assessments and HSE procedures.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to service quality, teamwork and operational discipline.
  • Complete the applicable Operator technical training and competency-development programme.

Requirements

  • High School Certificate or Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous field experience in wireline, well intervention, drilling or another oilfield service environment is preferred.
  • Basic written and spoken English sufficient to understand instructions and communicate at work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work offshore or at remote locations when required.
  • Physical fitness and medical eligibility for field and offshore duties, subject to the required assessment.
  • Ability to support equipment preparation, rig-up, pressure testing, operation, rig-down, inspection and routine maintenance.
  • Willingness to complete the required technical training and competency assessment.
