About The Daily Mail

The Daily Mail reaches more than one billion people globally every month and is renowned for agenda-setting exclusives, breaking news, incisive commentary, and in-depth investigations. Our distinctive editorial mix spans news, showbiz, royals, lifestyle, health, sport, money, and more.

With more than 300,000 digital subscribers across the UK, US, Australia, and beyond, and a social media following of more than 150 million, Daily Mail is one of the world's most influential digital news organizations. Our platforms generate more than six billion video views each month across Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and other channels.

About The Role

Daily Mail is looking for a Sales Marketing & Creative Strategy Lead to help build the next generation of commercial partnerships for one of the largest and most influential media brands in the world.

This is a senior creative-commercial role at the intersection of sales, strategy, editorial, audience, content and client service. The mandate is straightforward: help us turn the extraordinary reach, editorial franchises, talent, cultural relevance and storytelling capabilities of the Daily Mail into ambitious ideas that major marketers want to buy.

We are looking for someone who has done this before—and at meaningful scale. The ideal candidate has spent their career at highly regarded digital media companies, developing integrated programs, tentpoles and brand partnerships that have generated significant revenue, including multiple $500K+ programs.

This person will work closely with our sales organization from the earliest stages of an opportunity: understanding what a marketer is trying to accomplish, identifying the Daily Mail assets that can uniquely address that challenge, developing the big idea, and helping bring that idea persuasively into the room.

Depending on experience, this leader may also oversee Client Services and the teams responsible for taking solid ideas from pitch deck to execution, ensuring that what we deliver for advertisers meets—or exceeds—the promise we sold.

What You'll Do

Build Big, Sellable Ideas

  • Develop ambitious, differentiated advertising and sponsorship concepts across Daily Mail's portfolio of editorial, video, social, experiential, talent, data and other commercial capabilities.
  • Create signature tentpole opportunities and ownable franchises that can attract significant advertiser investment and be sold repeatedly or across multiple categories.
  • Translate major cultural moments—from elections and awards season to sports, entertainment, fashion, travel and major news events—into compelling commercial platforms.
  • Move beyond inventory-driven selling to create ideas rooted in audience insight, advertiser objectives and the distinctiveness of the Daily Mail brand.
  • Identify existing editorial franchises and audience behaviors that could become larger commercial opportunities without compromising editorial independence.

Partner With Sales to Win Business

  • Serve as a senior strategic and creative partner to the North American sales organization.
  • Join priority client and agency conversations to uncover business objectives and translate them into compelling partnership ideas.
  • Lead or contribute meaningfully to pitches for major accounts and high-value opportunities.
  • Help sellers sharpen the narrative around why Daily Mail, not simply what inventory is available.
  • Bring strong instincts about what CMOs, agencies and media buyers will find differentiated, credible and worth paying a premium for.
  • Create frameworks that allow the sales organization to distinguish between opportunities requiring bespoke thinking and those that can be addressed through repeatable products.

Develop the Daily Mail Commercial Story

  • Help refine how Daily Mail presents its audience, editorial authority, franchises, formats and capabilities to the advertising marketplace.
  • Create high-impact sales narratives and materials for major tentpoles, verticals and advertiser categories.
  • Work with Insights and Research to turn audience data into provocative, actionable commercial stories.
  • Identify whitespace in our existing commercial offering and develop new products, franchises and packages to address it.
  • Monitor the marketplace and ensure Daily Mail's commercial proposition compares favorably with leading premium publishers and digital platforms.

Connect Commercial Ideas to Execution

  • Partner closely with editorial, video, social, product, design, production, ad operations and other stakeholders to determine what is feasible and how ambitious ideas can be brought to life.
  • Establish a disciplined process for moving opportunities from brief → insight → concept → pitch → sold program → execution.
  • Ensure that creative ambition is balanced with operational feasibility, margin and repeatability.
  • Protect the integrity of the original idea as a campaign moves from pitch into production.

Potentially Lead Client Services

Depending on the experience of the successful candidate, this role may also oversee or help build the North American Client Services function.

That mandate would include:

  • Ensuring sold programs are executed at or above the standard promised during the pitch.
  • Creating clear ownership and communication across sales, clients, agencies and internal delivery teams.
  • Establishing best-in-class standards for campaign kickoff, execution, optimization, reporting and wrap-up.
  • Identifying opportunities to turn successful campaigns into renewals, case studies and larger strategic relationships.
  • Building a culture in which over-delivery becomes a competitive advantage for Daily Mail.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in sales marketing, integrated marketing, creative strategy, branded content, brand partnerships or a closely related discipline within premium digital media.
  • Experience at multiple respected media brands, publishers or content companies, with an understanding of different commercial models and creative cultures.
  • A demonstrated track record of developing multiple integrated programs or tentpole partnerships valued at $500K+.
  • A portfolio of work that shows genuine conceptual creativity—not simply packaging existing media inventory.
  • Deep familiarity with branded content, custom content, video, social, experiential, talent, sponsorship and integrated media solutions.
  • Significant experience partnering directly with senior salespeople on major pitches.
  • The presence and communication skills to sell an idea convincingly to senior marketers and agency executives.
  • Strong commercial judgment: an instinct for the difference between an interesting creative idea and an idea someone will actually buy.
  • Experience translating advertiser objectives and audience insights into creative platforms.
  • Strong understanding of how premium publisher organizations operate across editorial, sales, creative, production and client service.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing creative, strategy or client-service talent.
  • Ability to operate comfortably in a fast-moving, high-output organization where news cycles, client needs and priorities can change quickly.
  • A genuine love for the Daily Mail—its voice, pace, ambition, editorial instincts and ability to command attention. This person should understand what makes the Mail distinctive and be excited to build commercial ideas that amplify those strengths rather than sand them down.

The Person

  • You are equal parts strategist, creative director and commercial operator.
  • You can look at a client brief and quickly find the interesting problem underneath it. You understand the difference between an ad package and a big idea.
  • You've built things that didn't exist before you got there — franchises, formats, or partnership models that outlasted the original pitch and got sold again.
  • You are adaptable and can work quickly and collaboratively.
  • You have the poise and energy to present and sell both to internal team and to a skeptical CMO and have ideas land.
  • You don't need Daily Mail's voice softened to feel comfortable selling it. You get why the edge is the asset and you build ideas that amplify it rather than round it off.

About What We Offer

  • Competitive salary: $150,000–$185,000, plus annual discretionary bonus
  • Healthcare benefits.
  • Dental and optical coverage.
  • 401(k).
  • Generous paid time off.
  • Excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression within a global media organization.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
