Job Description

The story of energy is changing, and so are the opportunities to shape Britain's future. Join us at #HPC as an I&C Engineer and help bring one of the UK's most important low-carbon energy projects to life. You'll work on complex technology, solve real engineering challenges and see the impact of your work every day.

The Opportunity

Hinkley Point C is helping deliver An Electric Britain. As an I&C Engineer, you'll join our Joint Design Office Instrumentation and Control team, helping to support commissioning and plant readiness on one of the world's most significant engineering projects.

You'll focus on modifications to the Siemens SPPA-T2000 Standard I&C platform. From assessing design changes to testing and validation, you'll play a vital role in making sure systems are safe, effective and ready for operation.

Working alongside EDF and Siemens specialists, you'll help turn engineering solutions into reality while maintaining the high standards expected within the nuclear industry.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting on-site modifications to the Siemens SPPA-T2000 Standard I&C platform
  • Assessing how proposed changes affect hardware, software and plant operation
  • Producing and updating I&C programming for AS620 Tec4, OM690, ALS and MOP applications
  • Carrying out verification and validation activities
  • Supporting functional testing and investigation of issues identified during testing
  • Updating engineering records, diagrams and technical documentation
  • Working closely with commissioning, electrical and system engineering teams
  • Supporting Siemens specialists during detailed design activities
  • Helping maintain accurate configuration and design control
  • Highlighting risks, opportunities and delivery challenges to support project success

Who You Are

You're an engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with others and taking ownership of technically challenging work.

You'll bring:

  • A degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with complex I&C systems in an industrial environment
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Siemens SPPA-T2000 technology
  • A solid understanding of process signals, logic processing and alarm management
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to ask questions and challenge where needed
  • A commitment to quality, safety and technical rigour

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience within nuclear, power generation or process plant environments
  • Knowledge of EPR technology or EPR I&C systems
  • Experience supporting commissioning, operations or maintenance activities on large industrial facilities

Location And Working Pattern

This role is based full-time on-site at #HPC.

You'll work closely with colleagues across engineering, commissioning and project delivery functions. Regular on-site presence is essential to support plant modifications, testing and commissioning activities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
