Position Overview

As an L3 AV Events Technician, you will elevate the production value of internal and external events through expert AV and event management skills. You will serve as the primary escalation point for AV event issues, lead complex Tier 2 programmes, and act as a thought partner with stakeholders. This role supports operations and event production within the EMEA time zone and requires minimal supervision, deep technical expertise, and proactive leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead high-profile AV events, including video/audio mixing, camera operations, lighting, and floor management.
  • Act as Technical Director, Lead Video Engineer, or Technical Production Manager depending on event scope.
  • Attend and contribute to pre-show production meetings, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
  • Use and follow run-of-show documentation to guide technical execution and show flow.
  • Test all playback elements and ensure readiness of switchers, graphics, mixers, microphones, and other gear.
  • Reset event spaces post-production to pre-event standards.
  • Serve as the escalation point for unresolved AV issues from lower tiers.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in one or more AV domains (audio, video, lighting, stage, broadcast).
  • Lead planning and pre-production calls for Tier 2 events; assist or lead pre-production tasks for Tier 1 events.
  • Provide AV operational support in customer offices, including content display, signal routing, recording, and live streaming.
  • Troubleshoot sophisticated AV systems and provide solutions; escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
  • Conduct daily technical checks and proactive maintenance of AV equipment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand event requirements and provide technical guidance.
  • Manage AV-related ticketing systems and document workflows and SOPs.
  • Support inventory management and quality control of AV equipment.
  • Mentor and support lower-level technicians across APAC and EMEA.
  • Ensure seamless execution of live events using platforms such as Zoom, Webex, MS Teams, and IPTV.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of audio, video, and networking signal flow to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

What You Need to Succeed

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Media Production, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a live event technician, with proven ability to lead complex AV events.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in professional AV systems: audio, video, lighting, and control systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of AV signal routing, mixing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with live camera operations, vision mixing, and lighting techniques.
  • Familiarity with integrated audio systems (e.g., Q-SYS, Dante, AES67) is a plus.

Software Proficiency

  • Proficient in AV ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk).
  • Comfortable using video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Webex, MS Teams).

Personal Qualities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Composure under pressure and commitment to high standards.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
