Het bedrijf werkt actief volgens ecodesign-principes, met een duidelijke focus op het vervangen van fossiele grondstoffen door circulaire en hernieuwbare alternatieven. Een belangrijke drijfveer achter deze transitie is CO₂-reductie. Wat begint met de ogenschijnlijk eenvoudige vraag naar de potentiële reductie van een materiaalkeuze, mondt steeds vaker uit in een bredere en complexere vraag: Hoe kunnen CO₂-reductieclaims verifieerbaar, vergelijkbaar en schaalbaar worden opgesteld? Momenteel worden productemissies binnen Wittenburg Group gecommuniceerd via afzonderlijke PCF-statements. Er is echter behoefte aan een meer eenduidige, gevalideerde en toekomstbestendige methode om PCF-statements, vergelijkingen en reductieclaims transparant en betrouwbaar te onderbouwen. Deze methode moet aansluiten bij relevante standaarden, klantverwachtingen, audits en toekomstige wet- en regelgeving. Jouw opdracht: Tijdens deze stage duik je in een van de grootste uitdagingen binnen de kunststofindustrie: het betrouwbaar berekenen en vergelijken van de CO₂-impact van materialen. Je gaat aan de slag met het ontwikkelen van een praktische en toekomstbestendige Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)-methodologie voor polymer compounds. Daarbij analyseer je hoe het nu gebeurt, ontdek je waar verbeteringen mogelijk zijn en bouw je stap voor stap een gestandaardiseerde aanpak.
