Binnen een internationale logistieke speler, actief in bulkgoederen, fruit en containerstromen, werk je mee aan het vlot en efficiënt organiseren van goederenstromen in Europa en wereldwijd. Met strategische aanwezigheid in meerdere Belgische havens en een uitgebreid internationaal netwerk, vormt de organisatie een belangrijke schakel in de logistieke keten. Innovatie, samenwerking en duurzaamheid staan centraal, met voortdurende aandacht voor procesoptimalisatie en klantgerichte dienstverlening.

De douaneafdeling in België speelt hierin een cruciale rol en behandelt een brede waaier aan activiteiten, waaronder import-, export- en transitaangiften, douane- en btw-entrepots en fiscale vertegenwoordiging. De grootste operationele focus ligt in Antwerpen, met bijkomende activiteiten in Zeebrugge en Gent. Een veelzijdige en uitdagende omgeving voor een ervaren professional.

Jouw rol

Als Customs Operations Manager ben je verantwoordelijk voor het aansturen, optimaliseren en waarborgen van alle operationele processen binnen de douaneafdeling. Je zorgt ervoor dat de activiteiten efficiënt, compliant en volgens planning verlopen.

Je werkt nauw samen met de directie en neemt een deel van de operationele en coördinerende verantwoordelijkheden op, met als doel continuïteit en verdere professionalisering.

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden

  • Verantwoordelijk voor de dagelijkse werking, planning en capaciteitsbeheer van douaneactiviteiten van A tot Z
  • Optimaliseren en beheren van douaneprocessen, systemen en werkprocedures
  • Waarborgen van een efficiënte organisatie en operational excellence
  • Toezien op correcte en tijdige uitvoering volgens wet- en regelgeving
  • Identificeren en beheren van operationele risico's (compliance, processen, systemen, capaciteit)
  • Begeleiden van audits, controles en implementatie van nieuwe regelgeving
  • Onderhouden van contacten met douaneautoriteiten, klanten en externe partners
  • Fungeren als aanspreekpunt voor interne afdelingen en sparringpartner voor de directie
  • Coachen, motiveren en ontwikkelen van medewerkers, met focus op samenwerking en continue verbetering
  • Masterdiploma of bachelor met gelijkwaardig denk- en werkniveau
  • Minstens 5 jaar ervaring in een leidinggevende rol binnen douane-operations
  • Sterke ervaring in people management, coaching en teamontwikkeling
  • Grondige kennis van douanewetgeving, procedures, systemen en fiscale vertegenwoordiging
  • Ervaring met AEO-statuut en bijhorende verantwoordelijkheden
  • Flexibel en stressbestendig, met het vermogen om snel te schakelen in een dynamische omgeving
  • Resultaatgericht, verantwoordelijk en collegiaal ingesteld
  • Vlot met IT-toepassingen (o.a. Microsoft 365 en douanesystemen; kennis van Customs Streamliner is een plus)
  • Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden in Nederlands en Engels
