Onze missie

SODA+ helpt scholen hun attitudebeleid te versterken. Met data, coaching en slimme IT-tools ondersteunen we leerkrachten en directies om leerlingen te motiveren en beter te begeleiden.

De job

Als developer neem je mee de verantwoordelijkheid voor de software van SODA+: ons platform, de website, koppelingen, servers en ondersteuning van gebruikers.

Je taken:

  • Bouwen en onderhouden: je werkt zowel aan bestaande Symfony-applicaties als aan nieuwe toepassingen. Oudere onderdelen worden stapsgewijs vernieuwd en gemigreerd.
  • Systemen opvolgen: je bewaakt automatische processen zoals dataverwerking, rapporten en documenten voor scholen en grijpt in wanneer iets fout loopt.
  • Integraties bouwen: onze toepassingen communiceren via REST- en SOAP-API’s met verschillende externe systemen.
  • Verantwoord omgaan met data: we verwerken gegevens van minderjarigen. GDPR, beveiliging, anonimisering en dataminimalisatie zijn daarom essentieel.
  • Gebruikers ondersteunen: vragen van collega’s, scholen en andere gebruikers komen soms rechtstreeks bij jou terecht. Je zoekt snel naar een praktische oplossing.

Onze stack: PHP, Symfony, MariaDB en SQL, JavaScript/CSS en waar nuttig React met TypeScript, draaiend op Linux-servers.

Hoe we werken

We kiezen bewust voor betrouwbare en onderhoudbare technologie. Geen complexiteit omwille van complexiteit, maar software die jarenlang beheersbaar blijft binnen een non-profitorganisatie.

Je werkt grotendeels van thuis uit en krijgt veel autonomie. Er is geen eindeloze lijst tickets: je denkt zelf mee na over prioriteiten en oplossingen.

We hechten veel belang aan duidelijke documentatie, zorgvuldig programmeren en verstandig deployen. Bij problemen staat de gebruiker centraal: eerst begrijpen wat er aan de hand is, daarna zo snel mogelijk een werkbare oplossing bieden.

AI gebruiken we dagelijks om efficiënter te ontwikkelen en als klein team sneller vooruit te gaan.

Wat we zoeken

Voor deze functie is ervaring een harde voorwaarde. Dit houdt je niet onder controle zonder degelijke praktijkervaring.

  • Stevige ervaring met PHP en Symfony, in echte productieomgevingen.
  • Je voelt je thuis in code die je niet zelf geschreven hebt, ook als ze ouder is dan je liefst zou willen. Je bent er niet bang van, en je wil ze ook niet meteen herschrijven.
  • Sterke kennis van SQL: zonder een ORM nodig te hebben om je goed te voelen. We gebruiken Doctrine, maar vallen ook vaak terug op complexe queries.
  • Front-end kennis, over de hele stack: handgeschreven JavaScript en CSS zonder buildstap, én React met TypeScript. Werken zonder framework moet comfortabel zijn.
  • Je durft aan een Linux-server en aan MariaDB te werken: deploys, logs, back-ups, een dump importeren,...
  • Je praat rechtstreeks met scholen, bedrijven en soms ook leerlingen: je legt technische problemen uit aan mensen zonder veel technische achtergrond.
  • Je vindt het niet erg om je vast te bijten in hoe een school administratief werkt: klassen, periodes, rapporten, attesten, absenteïsme, co-accounts.
  • Je kan goed focussen, ook nadat je onderbroken werd voor een supportvraag.
  • Je volgt een probleem van melding tot oplossing, ook als de oorzaak niet in jouw code blijkt te liggen.

Pluspunten

  • Ervaring met SOAP of andere oudere API's van derden.
  • Gevoel voor gegevensbescherming en privacy by design.
  • Semantische, sobere HTML en aandacht voor toegankelijkheid.
