NAMSA Diest is een wereldleider in interventioneel en chirurgische onderzoek. Als Contract Research Organization (CRO), gespecialiseerd in grote diermodellen (voornamelijk schapen en varkens), ondersteunen wij internationale bedrijven en universiteiten bij de ontwikkeling en evaluatie van innovatieve medische hulpmiddelen en therapieën voor humaan gebruik. Onze expertise is uniek en wordt wereldwijd sterk gewaardeerd door onze klanten. NAMSA Diest beschikt over een volledig uitgeruste dierenkliniek met een intern laboratorium voor klinische pathologie. Daarnaast bieden wij een aangename, uitdagende en ondersteunende werkomgeving.

Wij zijn op zoek naar een gemotiveerde en toegewijde dierenarts die alle aspecten van de diergeneeskundige zorg mee uitvoert, en die onze Animal Care, Research en Surgical Technicians (8) en het Veterinaire Team (4) ondersteunt bij preklinische dierstudies.

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden:

  • Screenen van dieren vóór aankoop en onderzoek en behandelingen na aankoop.
  • Uitvoeren van klinische onderzoeken en aansturen van medische behandelingen binnen de standaard pre- en postoperatieve zorg en studie-specifieke vereisten, inclusief correcte documentatie van bevindingen.
  • Opvolgen van dieren tijdens recovery na anesthesie, inclusief intensieve zorg voor dieren die een invasieve chirurgische ingreep hebben ondergaan.
  • Deelnemen aan projecten waarvoor anesthesie, chirurgische expertise, postmortaal onderzoek, diagnostische expertise en/of andere veterinaire zorg vereist zijn.
  • Zorgen voor een tijdige, nauwkeurige en volledige documentatie van alle studiegegevens.
  • Opleiden en begeleiden van medewerkers op het vlak van diergeneeskundige zorg en dierenwelzijn.
  • Lid zijn van de Ethische Commissie.
  • Ontwikkelen van SOP’s, studieprotocollen, studieplannen en rapporten indien nodig.
  • Eventueel optreden als projectcoördinator voor niet-GLP-projecten.
  • Deelnemen aan audits en inspecties wanneer nodig.
  • Deelname aan wachtdienstregeling ‘s avonds en tijdens weekends.
  • Andere toegewezen taken.
  • Je beschikt over een diploma Diergeneeskunde (DVM of gelijkwaardig) en bij voorkeur over een certificaat in proefdierkunde (bv. FELASA), of je bent bereid dit te behalen.
  • Ervaring en/of interesse in één of meerdere van volgende domeinen is een pluspunt: intensieve zorg, postoperatieve zorg, schapen- en varkensgeneeskunde, proefdierkunde en Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
  • Je werkt nauwkeurig en kwaliteitsgericht, bent leergierig en bereid te investeren in je professionele ontwikkeling.
  • Je beschikt over sterke communicatieve vaardigheden en kan vlot samenwerken met dierenverzorgers, biotechnici, studieleiders en management.
  • Je bent vertrouwd met MS Office.
