Ergens in de regio Antwerpen zit een handelsonderneming die al meer dan een halve eeuw lang een brug slaat tussen producenten en afnemers van bouwmaterialen en staal op wereldschaal. Markten in Latijns-Amerika, Afrika en het Midden-Oosten, logistieke stromen die rechtstreeks vanuit internationale havens hun weg vinden, financiële transacties in meerdere valuta's. Het klinkt groots, maar het team dat dit alles aanstuurt telt slechts een dertigtal mensen. Die combinatie, grote handel met een compacte ploeg, maakt dat elke medewerker hier écht iets bijdraagt. Je ziet het resultaat van je werk, en de mensen naast je ook.

Voor wie vandaag werkt bij een groter bedrijf waar de financiële afdeling één radertje is in een grote machine, is dit een andere wereld. Hier werk je rechtstreeks samen met de CFO, denk je mee over valutarisico's en ben je betrokken bij rapportages die de koers van de organisatie mee bepalen. Geen eindeloze validatierondes, geen anonimiteit. Wel een functie waarin je van bij het begin leert wat internationale handelsfinanciering in de praktijk betekent.

Jouw rol als Junior Controller:

  • Je bereidt de kwartaalafsluitingen voor, inclusief balans en resultatenrekening, en leert zo het volledige financiële plaatje van een internationale handelsonderneming kennen.
  • Je analyseert budgetten en rapporteert over afwijkingen op kostenniveau, met oog voor de context achter de cijfers.
  • Je ondersteunt bij regelgevende rapportering en periodieke audits, inclusief de voorbereiding en coördinatie.
  • Samen met de CFO werk je aan de planning van financiële transacties en het afdekken van valutarisico's in USD, een concrete kennismaking met internationale financiering.
  • Je documenteert bedrijfsprocessen en boekhoudkundig beleid om de interne controles scherper te maken.

Jouw achtergrond als Junior Controller:

  • Een afgeronde bachelor of master in een economische richting vormt jouw stevige theoretische fundament om deze materie vlot op te pikken.
  • Idealiter breng je al wat werkervaring of een achtergrond in boekhouding/finance mee, ervaring in audit is zeker mooi meegenomen.
  • Uitgebreide datasets in Excel schrikken jou niet af en je bent in staat om nieuwe programma's zoals Navision of Power BI snel te omarmen.
