The posting

Als CKG hebben we in 3 afdelingen (regio’s Bilzen, Maasmechelen en Beringen) een residentiële werking voor kinderen van 0 tot 12 jaar. Binnen deze leefgroepwerking moet er dagelijks gekookt, gepoetst, gewassen, gestreken en afgewassen worden.

Als logistiek medewerker kook je voor een groep van 8 tot 11 kinderen en minstens 4 volwassenen. Jij en je collega verdelen de kook-, poets- en wastaken zodat het huis proper en netjes is en hun bewoners goed gevoed zijn.

Margot werkt sinds 2 jaar als logistiek medewerker en zij ervaart het zo: “Bij poetsen en koken stellen mensen zich meestal iemand voor die alleen aan het werk is. Maar ik heb net een heel sociale job. Schrijf nu niet dat ik de hele dag sta te babbelen hé. Want dat is niet waar. Dan geraakt het werk niet gedaan. Met ‘sociaal’ bedoel ik dat ik met heel veel mensen samenwerk. Ik overleg dagelijks met de leefgroepbegeleiders en met mijn collega-logistieker. Soms sla ik zelfs een babbel met de ouders die op bezoek zijn. Sommige ouders hebben zelf eten bij, willen dat opwarmen en hebben hulp met de microgolf nodig. Soms vragen ouders mij hoe ik iets klaarmaak dat hun kind graag eet. Daarom kook ik zo graag: eten kan mensen verbinden.

Het gebeurt dat de kinderen mijn eten niet lekker vinden. De preirolletjes van vorige week waren bijvoorbeeld geen succes. Ik vind het fijn om dan manieren te zoeken waarop de kinderen wél graag prei eten.

Het poetsen hoort erbij. In een vuile keuken kan je niet lekker koken. Een hele dag poetsen is zwaar. Gelukkig moet ik niet elke dag alleen maar poetsen. Opruimen, strijken en wassen zorgen ook voor afwisseling. Ik ben trots als de kinderen met nette kleren naar school kunnen gaan en ze in een proper huis thuiskomen.

Als een kind de leefgroep verlaat dan heb ik daar echt hartpijn van. Gelukkig kan ik dan leunen op mijn collega’s want zij ervaren hetzelfde als ik. Dat doet deugd. Ik ben hier graag.”
