Als operatieassistent neem je verantwoordelijkheid. Jij zorgt dat alles rondom de ingreep klopt, zodat de chirurg volledig op jou kan vertrouwen. Je denkt vooruit, schakelt snel en blijft rustig als situaties anders lopen dan gepland. Je communiceert duidelijk en prettig met collega's en patiënten. Omdat je werkt in wisselende teams, pas je je makkelijk aan. Verder:

- Heb je het diploma Operatieassistent (of rond je de opleiding binnenkort af). - Beheers je de Nederlandse taal goed. Dit is belangrijk voor de communicatie binnen ons team en in het ziekenhuis. - Werk je graag samen, want elke operatie is een teamprestatie.

Functie inhoud Vraag operatieassistenten in het Erasmus MC waarom dit werk op deze plek zo bijzonder is, en je krijgt verhalen over unieke operaties, intensieve samenwerking met veel verschillende specialismen, volop ruimte om jezelf te ontwikkelen én werken in het leukste team van Rotterdam. Hoe zie je dat terug in je werk:

- Je assisteert bij levensreddende ingrepen bij ernstige traumapatiënten uit de hele regio. Maar ook orgaantransplantaties, hartoperaties, kinderhartchirurgie en oncologische chirurgie vinden hier plaats. - Innovatie staat bij ons voorop. Veel nieuwe operaties en technieken worden als eerste in het Erasmus MC uitgevoerd. - Bij ons raak je nooit uitgeleerd. Wil je je op termijn verdiepen in je vak? Dat kan! Wij hebben zoveel specialismen in huis. Verdiep je bijvoorbeeld in neurochirurgie en wordt vakspecialist op dit gebied. In klinische lessen blijf je up-to-date en leer je werken met de nieuwste technieken en instrumenten. - Je wordt goed begeleid en ingewerkt. Zo krijg je alle tijd en ruimte om onze OK en de ingrepen stap voor stap te leren kennen. Nog geen ervaring in een academisch ziekenhuis of net afgestudeerd? Geen probleem!

Onze OK is opgedeeld in units. Heb je al een duidelijke interesse in bijvoorbeeld Cardiothoracale Chirurgie, Neurochirurgie of het Sophia Kinderziekenhuis? Of ben je je nog aan het oriënteren? Samen kijken we naar de beste plek. Verdiep je hier alvast in de verschillende units.

Onze hoofdlocatie (ook wel centrumlocatie genoemd) heeft 30 operatiekamers. Hier vinden dagelijks de meest complexe en innovatieve operaties plaats. Van orgaantransplantaties en kinderhartchirurgie tot wakkere hersenoperaties en traumachirurgie. Juist die dynamische omgeving maakt jouw werk als operatieassistent én het opleiden van toekomstige operatieassistenten zo uitdagend en interessant.

Het Sophia Kinderziekenhuis heeft 9 operatiekamers, 1 interventiekamer, 1 specifieke obstetrie-OK en 1 recovery.
