The posting

Voor onze klant te Tongeren zijn wij op zoek naar een Operations Manager die ook de leiding over het kantoor te Inden (Duitsland, 2 dagen per week) op zich zal nemen. In deze functie ben je verantwoordelijk voor de dagelijkse aansturing, opvolging en optimalisatie van de transportoperaties vanuit Tongeren. In deze sleutelrol bewaak je de planning, stuur je chauffeurs en operationele processen aan en zorg je voor een vlotte, kostenbewuste en conforme uitvoering van de ritten. Je combineert operationele daadkracht met een sterke administratieve en coördinerende ondersteuning.

Je takenpakket is breed en afwisselend:

  • je volgt vrachtwagens en transportopdrachten real-time op en grijpt tijdig in bij afwijkingen, vertragingen of operationele problemen;
  • je optimaliseert de planning met focus op maximale voertuigbenutting, minder lege kilometers en een efficiënte inzet van chauffeurs en middelen;
  • je bent het eerste aanspreekpunt voor chauffeurs en onderhoudt duidelijke communicatie met klanten bij wijzigingen of onverwachte situaties;
  • je waakt over de naleving van rij- en rusttijden, sociale regelgeving en andere wettelijke verplichtingen binnen transport;
  • je ondersteunt de werking van het team door inefficiënties te signaleren, werkwijzen te verbeteren en operationele afspraken op te volgen;
  • je neemt een administratieve back-uprol op ter ondersteuning van de Office Manager, onder meer in chauffeuradministratie, documentbeheer, payrollvoorbereiding en opvolging van afwezigheden;
  • je registreert en volgt incidenten, klachten, afwijkingen en technische problemen nauwkeurig op;
  • je bewaakt de staat, netheid en beschikbaarheid van het wagenpark en onderhoudt contact met garages en andere interne of externe partners.

Je werkt nauw samen met management, interne collega’s en het team op de werkvloer, en je hebt een zichtbare impact op de efficiëntie, kwaliteit en continuïteit van de dagelijkse operatie.

Voor de functie van Operations Manager voor onze klant te Tongeren & Inden (Duitsland) zoeken we een ervaren professional met een sterke achtergrond in transport, planning en operationele aansturing. Je hebt minstens 10 jaar relevante ervaring en voelt je thuis in een omgeving waar snelheid, nauwkeurigheid en verantwoordelijkheid samenkomen.

We verwachten dat je beschikt over:

  • minstens 10 jaar ervaring in transport, operations, planning of een gelijkaardige coördinerende rol;
  • grondige kennis van transportplanning, internationale transportprocessen, rij- en rusttijden en routeoptimalisatie;
  • ervaring met operationele opvolging, probleemoplossing en het nemen van beslissingen onder druk;
  • sterke administratieve vaardigheden en een nauwkeurige manier van werken;
  • vertrouwdheid met tools zoals TAS, Transics en MS Office;
  • een duidelijke en professionele communicatiestijl richting chauffeurs, klanten en interne stakeholders;
  • het vermogen om prioriteiten te stellen, efficiënt te schakelen en verbeterkansen te herkennen;
  • een verantwoordelijke, stressbestendige en praktische mindset met oog voor kwaliteit en resultaat;
  • een kostenbewuste en oplossingsgerichte aanpak, met de durf om initiatief te nemen en processen te verbeteren.

Ervaring in een leidinggevende of teamcoördinerende rol is een sterke troef. Je combineert operationele maturiteit met een hands-on ingesteldheid en je bent bereid om mee te bouwen aan een stabiele en performante werking in Tongeren.
