Jouw rol

Als R&D Prototyper maak je deel uit van het R&D‑team en speel je een centrale, hands-on rol in het vertalen van ontwerpideeën naar tastbare oplossingen. Je helpt designers hun ideeën snel, creatief en efficiënt te valideren door telkens de meest doordachte aanpak te kiezen.

Je weet wanneer een snelle proof-of-concept volstaat en wanneer een hoogwaardig prototype nodig is dat het eindproduct nauwkeurig benadert. Je combineert technische kennis met vakmanschap en creativiteit om tot de juiste oplossing te komen. Je werkt zowel zelfstandig als in nauwe samenwerking met ontwikkelteams en rapporteert aan de R&D Manager.

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden:

  • Je bouwt prototypes in verschillende stadia gaande van snelle conceptvalidaties tot hoogwaardige pre-series afgestemd op wat het project moet aantonen.
  • Je bepaalt mee de meest efficiënte manier om ideeën te valideren, door slim te kiezen uit materialen, technieken en processen.
  • Je geeft gestructureerde feedback aan designers over maakbaarheid, materiaalkeuze, toleranties en designkwaliteit.
  • Je combineert testen en analyse: je zet mechanische en elektromechanische testen op, voert ze uit en analyseert afwijkingen en fouten via een gestructureerde aanpak (incl. root cause).
  • Je werkt hands-on met diverse werkplaatsmachines (zoals CNC en lasinstallaties) en blijft je technische vaardigheden continu uitbreiden.
  • Je bewaakt de kwaliteit en nauwkeurigheid van prototypes via de juiste meetmethodes en tools.
  • Je gebruikt digitale tools vlot: je raadpleegt tekeningen via PLM, ondersteunt programmatie en documenteert builds en testresultaten duidelijk.
  • Je bouwt testopstellingen, demonstrators en geïntegreerde prototype systemen waarin verschillende technologieën samenkomen.
  • Je draagt bij aan een veilige, georganiseerde werkplaats en denkt actief mee over verbeteringen in processen en tooling.

Wat breng je mee?

  • Bachelor in een technische richting of gelijkwaardig door ervaring.
  • Ervaring in prototyping, productontwikkeling of een hands-on technische omgeving.
  • Sterke praktische kennis van verspaning en affiniteit met meerdere productietechnieken.
  • Creatief, oplossingsgericht en efficiënt in aanpak.
  • Gestructureerd in testen en problem solving.
  • Vlot in het lezen van technische tekeningen en gebruik van digitale tools.
  • Leergierig en open om nieuwe technieken aan te leren.
  • Zelfstandig, maar ook een echte teamplayer.
  • Oog voor detail en kwaliteit.
  • Vloeiend in het Engels.
