The posting

Als Reliability Engineer speel je een centrale rol in het verhogen van de betrouwbaarheid, onderhoudbaarheid en performantie van de industriële installaties bij een firma in Tienen. Vanuit een brede elektromechanische expertise worden storingen, onderhoudsdata en technische knelpunten vertaald naar structurele verbeteringen die de beschikbaarheid van de fabriek op lange termijn versterken. De rol krijgt extra betekenis binnen de transitie het bedrijf vandaag doormaakt. Naast de traditionele productie van citroenzuur ontwikkelt en schaalt de organisatie nieuwe toepassingen op basis van bijproducten zoals mycelium. Dat zorgt voor een interessante combinatie van bestaande productie-installaties, nieuwe technologieën en engineeringprojecten waarin reliability vanaf de ontwerpfase een belangrijke plaats krijgt.

Wat ga je doen?

Reliability & onderhoudsoptimalisatie

Binnen dit domein ligt de focus op het structureel verhogen van de technische betrouwbaarheid van de site. Proces-, storings- en onderhoudsdata worden geanalyseerd om terugkerende defecten en belangrijke efficiëntieverliezen zichtbaar te maken. Bij complexe of repetitieve storingen worden Root Cause Analyses uitgevoerd en worden samen met productie, maintenance en engineering duurzame maatregelen bepaald om herhaling te vermijden. Daarnaast worden de bestaande preventieve onderhoudsprogramma's continu geëvalueerd en verder uitgebouwd. Nieuwe installaties worden geïntegreerd in de onderhoudsstrategie, terwijl onderhoudstaken en -frequenties kritisch worden beoordeeld op effectiviteit. Methodieken zoals RCM, RCA en FMEA ondersteunen daarbij een onderbouwde aanpak. Ook de uitvoering van geplande onderhoudsactiviteiten en de technische resultaten ervan worden opgevolgd. Als technisch aanspreekpunt ondersteunt de Reliability Engineer techniekers en andere stakeholders bij uiteenlopende technische vraagstukken. Daarbij blijft de focus bewust liggen op structurele reliability-opdrachten: operationele vragen worden correct geprioriteerd, zodat langetermijnverbeteringen niet verdwijnen tussen dagelijkse ad-hocproblemen.

Standaardisatie & technische verbeterprojecten

Een tweede belangrijk werkgebied is het standaardiseren en toekomstbestendig maken van installaties en componenten. Kritische spare parts worden bepaald en waar mogelijk over verschillende installaties heen geharmoniseerd. Bij obsolete onderdelen worden technisch geschikte alternatieven onderzocht, met aandacht voor beschikbaarheid, onderhoudbaarheid en levensduur. Ook piping specifications, materiaalkeuzes en technische standaarden maken deel uit van deze scope. Reliability stopt daarbij niet bij analyse. Verbeteringen worden ook daadwerkelijk geïnitieerd en mee gerealiseerd. Dat kan gaan van de optimalisatie van WKK-, perslucht- of demiwaterinstallaties tot het verlengen van de levensduur van equipment in vochtige productieomgevingen, het vervangen van kuipen of het aanpassen van installaties vanwege verouderde componenten. Bij investerings- en engineeringprojecten wordt reliability vanaf de start meegenomen. Vanuit praktijkervaring en onderhoudskennis wordt mee gewaakt over standaardisatie, bereikbaarheid, materiaalkeuze en maintenance-friendly ontwerp, zodat nieuwe installaties niet alleen technisch functioneren maar ook efficiënt onderhouden kunnen worden gedurende hun volledige levenscyclus.

  • Je beschikt bij voorkeur over een masterdiploma binnen industriële wetenschappen, elektromechanica of een vergelijkbare technische richting. Een gelijkwaardig niveau opgebouwd door relevante ervaring komt eveneens in aanmerking.
  • Je hebt ervaring binnen een industriële productieomgeving en beschikt over een sterke elektromechanische basis. Ervaring binnen chemie, voeding of een vergelijkbare procesomgeving is een duidelijke meerwaarde. Reliability, maintenance en continuous improvement zijn vertrouwde begrippen en je hebt praktische ervaring met Root Cause Analysis, preventieve onderhoudsprogramma's en het structureel oplossen van technische problemen. Kennis van RCM en FMEA is belangrijk binnen de functie; ervaring met SAP en Lean of een Green Belt is een bijkomende troef.
  • Je analyseert problemen grondig, maar blijft niet hangen in analyse alleen. Je neemt ownership, zet verbeterprojecten zelfstandig in beweging en bewaakt de voortgang tot er een werkbare technische oplossing staat. In de samenwerking met techniekers, productie en engineering communiceer je toegankelijk en duidelijk. Je durft bestaande werkwijzen in vraag te stellen, kan omgaan met weerstand en weet collega's mee te nemen in technische veranderingen.
