- Een afgeronde mbo-4-opleiding in (Scheeps)Werktuigbouwkunde, AOT of vergelijkbaar. - Ervaring met rotating equipment zoals gasturbines, dieselmotoren, pompen en compressoren, bijvoorbeeld als mechanic in een industriële of petrochemische omgeving. - Een goede gezondheid, want een medisch keuring is onderdeel van de selectieprocedure.

Wat doet een monteur werktuigbouw? Jouw nieuwe werkgever onderzoekt of bepaalde locaties in de zee geschikt zijn voor offshore projectontwikkeling. Vanaf speciale schepen met geotechnische meetapparatuur worden inspecties verricht. Als monteur werktuigbouw zorg je ervoor dat deze machines perfect werken. Je plaatst installaties, vervangt, onderhoudt en repareert. Hoe dat allemaal werkt op zo'n schip? Geen zorgen, je volgt een training van 2 maanden in Nederland. Zo kun je veilig en zelfverzekerd je werk doen. Bij deze job werk je 4 weken aan boord van een schip in Nederland of het buitenland. Daarna ben ben je 4 weken betaald vrij. Gemiddeld ben je zo'n 180 tot 195 dagen per jaar offshore.
