The posting

Het operatiekwartier van het UZA bestaat uit zes clusters, die gespecialiseerd zijn in verschillende medische ingrepen. In totaal tellen we 19 hoogtechnologische operatiezalen, waarmee we een van de grootste OK’s in Antwerpen zijn. Omdat we blijven groeien, zoeken we voor cluster 1 (neurochirurgie, neus-keel-oorziekten (NKO), mond-kaak-en aangezichtschirurgie (MKA)) verpleegkundigen om het perioperatieve proces te ondersteunen. Kenmerkend voor deze dienst is het belangrijke aandeel pediatrische patiënten en robotchirurgie.

Wat ga je doen?

  • Je assisteert bij verschillende NKO-, MKA- en neurochirurgische ingrepen als instrumenterend verpleegkundige of omloopverpleegkundige: Instrumenteren? Da’s vooraf materialen klaarleggen en de patiënten voorbereiden op de operatie. Tijdens de ingreep geef je aan de chirurg de nodige instrumenten aan. Omlopen? Dan ondersteun je jouw collega-verpleegkundige die instrumenteert. Zo help je om de patiënt goed te positioneren, het chirurgisch team zich steriel aan te kleden. Verder assisteer je de anesthesist. Na afloop ruim je op en bied je nazorg aan je patiënten.
  • Je krijgt hiervoor een ruim opleidingstraject op maat: een algemeen deel voor alle OK-verpleegkundigen en een specifiek deel voor de specialiteiten binnen jouw gekozen cluster. Onze mentoren nemen je onder hun vleugels.

Wie zoeken we?

  • Je hebt een diploma verpleegkunde (bachelor, master of HBO5).
  • Je werkt graag intensief samen met je collega’s. Een OK-team bestaat onder meer uit chirurgen, anesthesisten, verpleegkundigen en logistiek medewerkers. Samen vormen ze een goed geoliede machine, binnen en buiten de operatiezaal.
  • Je kan goed overweg met kinderen.
  • Je bent bereid te leren en op regelmatige basis bijscholingen te volgen.
  • Nadat je ons opleidingstraject afrondt, neem je ook deel aan het volcontinu systeem met thuiswachten.
