Job Description

Seeking an Offshore Test Lead with 8+ years of experience to lead quality assurance for enterprise data migration and platform integration initiatives. Operating from India, the lead will act as the single point of contact between the client lead (US) and the offshore manual testing, ETL testing and automation testing teams, planning and driving delivery in close partnership with the client lead.

This is a leadership role, not only a testing role. The lead will devise the test strategy and approach, manage and mentor multiple teams, govern QA processes, standards and entry and exit criteria, and ensure Azure DevOps traceability, visible evidence and defects, coordinated sprint handoffs, and reusable automation and test data. The candidate must have hands-on testing credentials and a track record of leading migration, ETL and automation testing, with a preference for insurance policy and claims data.

Responsibilities

Required Skillset

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in software testing and QA, with a proven record of leading testing for data migration, ETL and automation programs
  • Experience leading and managing multiple testing teams (manual, ETL and automation), including work allocation, mentoring, reviews and performance management
  • Strong skills in test strategy and planning, including test approach, estimation, scheduling and risk-based prioritization
  • Hands-on depth in automation testing, ETL testing, test data management, end-to-end testing, system integration testing (SIT) and smoke testing
  • Proven experience leading data migration testing, including source-to-target reconciliation and data integrity validation
  • Strong command of QA processes and standards, with the ability to define and enforce entry and exit criteria
  • Working experience in Azure DevOps (Boards, Test Plans, dashboards), including traceability, sprint planning and reporting
  • Strong stakeholder management, with experience working directly with client leads, handling escalations and reporting progress and risks
  • Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred: Experience in insurance data, especially policy and claims

Required Skillset / Candidate Profile:

  • Act as the offshore single point of contact between the client lead and the manual testing, ETL testing and automation testing teams
  • Partner with the client lead to plan, devise and own the test strategy, approach and delivery roadmap
  • Define, agree and enforce QA processes, standards, and entry and exit criteria for each test cycle
  • Lead, allocate work to, mentor and review the output of multiple testing teams
  • Oversee delivery of SIT, end-to-end, smoke, ETL and data migration testing, and drive the strategy for reusable automation and test data
  • Ensure Azure DevOps traceability across requirements, test cases, test runs and defects
  • Ensure visible evidence of test execution and defects, and govern defect triage and resolution with development and Business Analyst teams
  • Coordinate sprint handoffs across teams and with the client
  • Track and report daily and weekly status, risks, issues and quality metrics, and escalate where required
  • Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, automation coverage and team capability
  • Willingness to work in IST shift (Operating hours: 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST until US daylight saving time ends; 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM IST once daylight saving time has ended)

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in business, Data Science, Operations, or related field. 6-8 years of experience in operational analytics or business analytics.
