The Role / Position overview

FT Studio is an in-house creative team that produces partner content for the FT. We create editorially driven and visually impactful client-branded content, from animations to immersive and interactive digital experiences, mini-documentaries, and podcasts. Maintaining the FT tone of voice, FT Studio’s content sits naturally within the newspaper’s editorial environment.

As Senior Content Producer at FT Studio, you will have exceptional storytelling and production skills. You will lead creative projects from ideation to completion, working collaboratively with various teams including writers, editors, video teams, and designers.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced producer who can confidently represent the business in-market, make independent decisions, develop trusted regional partnerships and establish a scalable production operation across APAC.

This role will be based in Singapore and work closely with FT colleagues in the region. It will report into an EP in London, liaising closely with the core team based there.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creatively develop and lead multimedia projects from ideation to completion, with minimal guidance from an Executive Producer, including but not limited to documentaries, animations, podcasts, digital interactives, and articles
  • Work with an Executive Producer to execute the delivery of larger projects that require more oversight
  • Work with clients and the Client Solutions team to develop a content strategy, creative and editorial direction, and establish clear project communication
  • Act as a content lead on campaigns, developing professional relationships with clients, and confidently discussing content ideas
  • Ensure the content supports the client’s brand goals while upholding the values of the Financial Times
  • Manage the end-to-end production process on multiple campaigns, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot multiple projects simultaneously
  • Write creative briefs for designers
  • Develop and write video scripts
  • Direct video shoots and post-production – this may require travel and flexible working hours
  • Review, test, and proofread content before sending to clients
  • Stay up-to-date on global business trends and FT trending topics
  • Drive content innovation by staying on top of branded content trends and proposing original ideas and new formats
  • Advise on social media and video analytics strategy where needed to assist in the performance of multimedia content
  • Work with Executive Producers and the Client Solutions team to assist in the ideation and development of content proposals
  • Work with the Global Client Services team to assist in the integration of new ways to serve clients
  • Work with Senior Production Manager to help develop effective workflows and processes
  • Actively contribute to FT Studio’s positive working culture by being a team player

Required Skills / Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in video and digital content production
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
  • Strong understanding of journalistic storytelling and editorial processes, with the ability to translate complex subjects into compelling, audience-first content
  • Demonstrable experience developing content for business audiences, with a strong understanding of B2B communications and thought leadership.
  • Experience working with clients in financial services, professional services, technology or other complex, regulated sectors
  • Expertise leading video teams, designers and developers to create video and digital content
  • Strong understanding of how editorial credibility and commercial objectives can be balanced to create high-quality branded content
  • Proven track record of success working in a fast-moving agency setting or complex multi-stakeholder environment with a tolerance for ambiguity
  • Degree or demonstrable interest or experience in a related field (e.g. Communications, Media Production, Journalism, Marketing)
  • Excellent command of English; ability to speak any local languages in Asia is a plus
  • Previous working experience in the Asian Pacific region will be advantageous

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
