🔍 About the Role

In Helsingborg, we design and build large-scale industrial equipment used primarily for freezing and chilling of food products. Our systems combine advanced refrigeration technology with specialized airflow, heat transfer, conveying, and mechanical solutions to create equipment for some of the world's biggest food producers.

You will be part of the Innovation department, a multidisciplinary team consisting of Development Engineers, Technical Project Managers, and technical specialists working together to drive New Product Development (NPD) projects. In this collaborative environment, you will contribute both independently and as part of cross-functional project teams, working closely not only with colleagues within Innovation, but also with Manufacturing, Service, Sales, Supply Chain, and other functions across the organization to transform customer and business needs into innovative technical solutions.

🧠 What You Will Do

· Participate in New Product Development (NPD) projects, contributing automation and control system expertise from concept through implementation.

· Design, program, test, and optimize PLC software using Siemens TIA Portal.

· Develop HMI solutions and operator interfaces to improve usability and machine performance.

· Create and maintain automation architectures, functional descriptions, and software standards.

· Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration engineers to deliver integrated system solutions.

· Execute system testing, troubleshooting, validation, and performance optimization activities.

· Support commissioning activities in production and at customer sites when required.

· Investigate and resolve complex automation and control system challenges.

· Develop and maintain technical documentation, including software specifications, test protocols, and user manuals.

· Ensure automation solutions comply with safety standards, quality requirements, and applicable regulations.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on performance, reliability, maintainability, and cybersecurity.

· Support and share knowledge with colleagues across the organization.

🛠️ What kind of person are you?

You are passionate about industrial automation and enjoy transforming technical requirements into robust and efficient control solutions. You thrive in a hands-on environment where you can work close to both development and testing activities. You are analytical, structured, and collaborative, with a strong drive to solve problems and improve system performance.

Hard Skills & Experience

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

· Experience developing and commissioning industrial automation systems.

· Experience programming Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal and developing Siemens HMI solutions.

· Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Profibus, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, or similar.

· Experience with machine safety systems and functional safety concepts is considered an advantage.

· Understanding of electrical systems, control panels, sensors, field instrumentation, electric motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo systems.

· Solid understanding of mechanical systems and the interaction between automation, drives, conveyors, and process equipment.

· Experience troubleshooting, optimizing, and root cause analyzing complete machine systems across automation, electrical, and mechanical domains.

· Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

· Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken.

Soft Skills & Mindset

· Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

· Self-driven with a high level of ownership and accountability.

· Structured and organized, with attention to both details and overall objectives.

· Collaborative and able to build strong relationships across functions.

· Curious mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

· Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve with business needs.

🚀 What’s in it for you?

· Work with highly specialized products used by leading global food manufacturers.

· Be part of developing the next generation of automated freezing and chilling solutions.

· Direct access to production and testing facilities where you can validate and refine your solutions.

· A collaborative R&D environment focused on innovation, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence.

· Opportunities to deepen expertise across multiple engineering disciplines, from product design and validation to simulation, testing, and system optimization.

· The role offers potential opportunities for travel related to development projects, testing, supplier collaboration, and customer support activities.

· The chance to see your ideas progress from concept to real-world implementation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
