The posting

Be a crucial member of the Ops team supporting Fresh Prints’ supply chain (Permanent WFH)

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a China-based hiring only, and we prioritize candidates who live in and around Dongguan or Guangzhou area.

Fresh Prints is an NYC-based custom apparel company experiencing rapid year-over-year growth. You’ll join a team that helps drive our business growth by building and scaling a reliable supplier ecosystem and ensuring operational excellence across our supply chain.

We’re looking for a dynamic, driven, organized, and experienced professional who wants to tackle major operational challenges. We work with suppliers and manufacturers across multiple categories and regions to support our custom garments business. In this role, you will serve as Fresh Prints’ on-ground sourcing and supply chain resource in China, with a primary focus on fabric and material sourcing across the Guangzhou and/or Dongguan (Humen is preferred) markets.

You will build and manage a strong network of fabric and material suppliers, maintain regular relationships with manufacturers, and provide on-ground support to the Fresh Prints team for sourcing, product development, supplier communication, and quality control. You will be expected to regularly engage with the fabric market, identify new suppliers and materials, support the team with sourcing requests, and develop supplier relationships into long-term sourcing programs.

Alongside these responsibilities, you will support the end-to-end execution of China-based apparel orders, including purchase orders, pricing and timeline confirmation, production tracking, and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Own fabric and material sourcing in China: Maintain regular, on-ground access to the fabric markets in Guangzhou and/or Dongguan (Humen is preferred) and support the Fresh Prints team with fabric, trims, and material sourcing as needed.
  • Build and manage a fabric supplier network: Identify, vet, and establish relationships with fabric and material suppliers across China. Maintain regular communication with suppliers and continuously expand the supplier network to create new sourcing opportunities and programs for Fresh Prints.
  • Provide on-ground sourcing support: Act as the team’s on-ground resource in China for fabric and material sourcing needs, including finding new materials, collecting and sending fabric swatches, visiting suppliers, validating capabilities, and supporting new product development.
  • Support manufacturer and supplier communication: Provide on-ground support to internal teams when communicating with fabric suppliers and garment manufacturers in China, helping resolve questions, clarify requirements, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Conduct on-site quality control: Perform on-site QC checks at factories for samples and bulk production, including in-process and pre-shipment inspections. Verify quality, measurements, specifications, workmanship, and other production requirements.
  • Manage QC follow-up: Maintain inspection records and QC documentation, and promptly escalate quality issues, production delays, and supply risks to the relevant internal teams.
  • Continuously improve our China supply chain: Identify new suppliers, materials, sourcing programs, and processes that can improve cost, quality, speed, reliability, or product capabilities.
  • Take ownership of additional projects: Take on projects and operational initiatives that create value for Fresh Prints and strengthen our China sourcing and manufacturing capabilities.

Technical Skills

  • At least 1.5+ years of sourcing/buying experience in vendor management, supplier coordination, negotiations, quoting, procurement, or a related field.
  • At least 1.5+ years of fabric and trims sourcing experience, with familiarity with the Guangzhou Zhongda fabric market and/or Dongguan fabric markets.
  • Strong understanding of fabric, trims, garment manufacturing, and supplier capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, multi-step processes with accuracy.
  • Comfortable using Google Sheets / MS Excel for tracking, reporting, and operational management.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and active orders simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
  • Willingness and ability to regularly visit fabric markets, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities in China as required.
  • Ability to provide on-ground support to internal teams and respond quickly to sourcing, supplier, manufacturing, and QC requirements.
  • Flexibility to occasionally adjust hours based on business requirements and management decisions.

Job Location: Work From Home with regular commute to the Fabric market as need arises

Working Hours: 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM China Standard Time, Monday to Friday

Monthly Salary: Starting at $1000 base (depending on experience) + $40 night shift allowance

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
