The posting

Job Summary:

The Campus Operations Manager owns how live production runs at Gateway's campuses. This role leads the Regional LP Campus Managers and the Campus Operations Coordinator. It also carries the operational relationship with every extension campus — including Jackson Hole, which reports on a dotted line. Where Central Lighting, Video, and Audio own their disciplines, this seat owns campus delivery: coverage, consistency, equipment readiness, and the Team Members and Serve Teams who run each room.

Principal Job Responsibilities:

  • Owns live production delivery across all extension campuses, ensuring consistent execution of the churchwide technical standard
  • Leads and develops the Regional LP Campus Managers and the Campus Ops Coordinator
  • Carries the dotted-line relationship with the Jackson Hole LP Campus Manager
  • Ensures every campus has adequate technical coverage for all services and events, and resolves coverage gaps
  • Oversees equipment readiness, maintenance schedules, and replacement planning across campuses
  • Partners with the Central Lighting, Video, and Audio Managers so discipline standards land correctly at each campus
  • Accountable for campus adherence to the AVL standards owned by the Central Audio, Video and Lighting Managers
  • Oversees the department-wide purchasing plan and preferred-vendor list, and the repair and new equipment budget — not only the campus budget
  • Directs the training program by which Systems Engineers develop campus staff toward system self-sufficiency
  • Assesses campus readiness to move between staffing stages against the two staffing principles
  • Serves as the point of contact between Central Live Production and the campus teams
  • Assists in the recruiting, hiring, leading, training, and development of the campus live production team, and provides accountability for the campus Live Production Team
  • Oversees the growth and health of campus Serve Teams that staff technical positions
  • Manages the campus live production budget and expenses within the approved threshold
  • Supports new campus launches and campus technical build-outs
  • Reviews the metrics for campus operations and makes decisions accordingly
  • Is present and serving at weekend services and churchwide events as the ministry calendar requires
  • Maintains strong working knowledge of the audio, video, lighting, and control systems at their location, not only the discipline they operate
  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance on the systems they work with
  • Diagnoses and resolves first-line faults across audio, video, and lighting rather than escalating by default, and escalates with a clear account of what has already been tested
  • Keeps system documentation, patch files, and show files current for their location
  • Participates in the training provided by the Systems Engineers and maintains the competence level agreed for the role
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

As a member of the Gateway Church team, this position is expected to support, recruit, and develop Serve Team members, and to serve alongside the broader team as ministry and organizational needs arise.

General Skills & Qualifications:

  • A clear passion for Jesus and a strong biblical foundation
  • Strong working knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems, live production workflow, and the engineering required to troubleshoot and keep systems operational
  • Able to maintain, support, and troubleshoot AVL systems independently, and to recognize when a fault needs an engineer
  • Willing to be trained and assessed to an agreed competence standard, and to keep that standard current as systems change
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience developing managers across multiple locations
  • Strong working knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems and live production workflow
  • Strong operational and planning skills, with the ability to manage coverage and logistics at scale
  • Able to hold a consistent standard across campuses they do not staff directly
  • Able to function at a high level of effectiveness and calm under live, high-pressure conditions
  • Strong budget management skills
  • Comfortable holding others accountable with clarity and care
  • Demonstrated emotional and relational intelligence
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to hold several priorities at once
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn and function within new software and systems

Education/Certification(s):

  • Five or more years of live production experience, including management experience — required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience — required
  • Experience supporting multiple venues or locations — preferred
  • Prior experience in a multisite church environment — preferred

General Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally kneel or crouch
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to travel regularly to all campuses, lift and move production equipment up to 50 lbs, and work at heights on ladders or lifts

*This description is not all inclusive, and other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
