Founded in 2015, the company develops and deploys mission ready systems while delivering end to end clearance services for landmines, ERW and IEDs across humanitarian, military and commercial sectors. With German engineering, a multinational expert team and operations in more than 30 countries, GCS reduces explosive risks, restores safe land usage and enables secure movement as a full‑solution provider.

For our Syria Branch we are looking for you upon availability in an 100% capacity.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the subsidiary’s strategy in close alignment with GCS management.
  • Strengthening GCS’s presence in the demining, explosive threat mitigation and broader development sector in Syria.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, suppliers, and government authorities.
  • Lead day-to-day operations and ensure efficient processes across the subsidiary.
  • Manage financial performance, budgets, risks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team and foster a collaborative work environment.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience with strong strategic, communication, and negotiation skills; relevant experience in demining, explosive threat mitigation, humanitarian or development work is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Syria’s political, institutional, and commercial landscape and a relevant stakeholder network.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, foster collaboration, and manage conflicts.
  • Native Arabic speaker with strong professional English skills; German is an advantage.
  • Based in Damascus, with regular regional travel and occasional travel to GCS headquarters.
