The posting

At Gigamon, our purpose is to protect the hybrid networks and data of the largest, most complex organizations on the planet. Certified as a Great Place to Work, we offer a deep observability pipeline that efficiently delivers network-derived intelligence to cloud, security, and observability tools. This helps our customers to eliminate security blind spots, optimize network traffic, and dramatically reduce tool cost and complexity, enabling them to better secure and manage their hybrid cloud infrastructure. Gigamon has served more than 4,000 customers worldwide, including over 80 percent of Fortune 100 enterprises, 9 of the 10 largest mobile network providers, and hundreds of governments and educational organizations.

Gigamon is seeking a Director, Product Management for it's core platforms, to play a vital role in our product line management team focused on the software that runs on all of the hardware platforms. The person in this role will be working as part of a team in this domain, with the responsibility to drive, manage and enable product success from ‘vision’ to ‘bookings’. The right candidate will be a strategic team player with demonstrated excellence in understanding market and customer needs, collaborating with other stakeholders to develop product strategy and translate that strategy into world-class products.

The ideal candidate would have an excellent understanding of networking, competitive analysis and is obsessed with starting from the customer problems and working backward.

What you'll do:

  • Product strategy: Define the vision and roadmap for the hardware and system software product, considering market trends, customer needs, and competitor analysis to identify potential features and functionalities.
  • Product development and team work: Collaborate with engineering to develop, and implement new features, enhance existing ones, prioritize key fixes, and ensure the product meets performance and scalability requirements.
  • Market analysis: Understanding the competitive landscape, market segments, and customer requirements to position the product effectively.
  • Product launch: Plan and execute product launches with a cross functional set of stakeholders, including internal and external enablement.
  • Voice of the customer: Meet regularly with customers and partners to evangelize the vision, strategy, and roadmap, and collect feedback both on existing products and features but also building an understanding of where customers are going next, with a focus on the "why".
  • Technical expertise: Network Packet Brokers require a strong understanding of both hardware architectures and network protocols. Bringing a strong understanding of networking will be key to working well with both customers and engineering.

What you'll bring:

  • At least 7+ years of Product Management experience.
  • 20+ years overall experience.
  • Previous experience working with operating systems, platforms, system architecture, or related technologies.
  • Well rounded Product Management skills, from working with customers to understand pain points, translating these into well written requirements, articulating the needs both at a technical and business level.
  • Prior experience driving requirements, from initial writing, to discussions with engineering, to delivery in a release.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally, with Engineering, Project Management, Marketing, and Technical Marketing/Product Marketing.

Who you are:

  • Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ability to manage and influence positively through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus-building.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
